Ro growls in understanding at the 'ghost' and stares with a look full of hatred like only a woman can stare at her

Toryn: " Ro ? " says Toryn questioningly ... " Who is that ghost ? You know her ? "

Ro turns around with the look full of hatred still covering her face, looks at Toryn and starts walking towards the gnolls

Toryn: Still looking puzzled Toryn turns towards the gnolls as well " Good to have you with us sister ! "

Last week the wave of gnolls had receeded and in it's place was the warrior and caster gnolls that you had originally fought before your journey to Surefall Glade. In the middle of the battle, a woman appears behind Ro. Everyone but Rand seems to be able to see and hear her.

Toryn (Toryn): and Ro hates the ghost - woman's guts for some reason :P

The woman is transparent and hoovering several feet above the ground. She is wearing a white shift that ends somewhere between her knees and ankles, the shift has golden trim. Her skin is fair and her golden hair hangs loose over her shoulders. She looks rather sad at the moment.

The woman looks down at Ro

The woman: When the wayward child can humble herself amongst her family and friends, then she may have the gift that was bestowed upon her at birth restored

For all but Rand, the battle seems to stop.

Toryn: Toryn frowns at the woman...

Toryn (Toryn): Detect Evil, evil GM

Toryn stands, staring at the woman. After several moments pass, he concludes there is no taint of evil on her.

Toryn: " Well Mithaniel Marr says she doesn't serve the forces of darkness " says Toryn slowly - with a wary eye on the gnolls toryn asks Aikira " From where do you know this ghost , brother ? "

Ro stares at the ghost, with a look that makes it clear hell is about to treeze over, with an icecold look on her face while tears of anger burn in her eyes

Toryn: " Who are you ? " Toryn asks the woman in wonder ...

The woman glances at Toryn.

The woman: When this is said and done, you may ask your sister who I am.

Aikira looks puzzeld at tory

Toryn: " This being the battle with the gnolls milady ? "

Aikira: I don't know this creature brother

Ro mumbles something in orcish at the lady while she is looking at the ground

Ro: how can i say what has to be said when i can't speak with them?

-> ro: just write some of the orcish jibberish and we'll do it in tells

Ro: that was the question Ro asks the lady :P

The woman she smiles somewhat

The woman: Will you say what needs to be said if I restore your bardic powers?

Ro looks at the woman and replies in orcish

Ro: it is what u want me to say, my heart does not share your opinion.

The woman smiles again.

Toryn: Toryn looks alarmed at the mention of Ro's bardic powers going missing

Toryn: " This isn't good - it isn't good at all " Toryn murmurs to Aikira and Rand ....

Kenny (Ro): ain't we talking orcish?

Petra (The woman): she's not ;-)

Rand: "Huh, what is happening" Rand says, looking around confused, swinging his mace

The woman: It is a shame that you are as stubborn as you are wayward. I care not about your newfound sensabilities. It is your lack of, how shall I say it? Caring as to what happens to those whom have willingly fostered you when they could have easily slayed you.

Aikira: why aren't the gnolls atacking us?

Toryn: " Everyone's stopping fighting, even the gnolls " Toryn whispers to Rand ... " There's some ghost woman over there Ro seems to have great hatred for - she says Ro has to say something - I don't know what - for Ro to regain her bardic abilities " Toryn whispers to Rand

Rand: "No idea why not" Rand says

The woman looks and addresses Aikira

Toryn: " Maybe the ghost woman stoped the gnolls - some sort of enchantment ? "

The woman: They are a nuisance, this is a matter that needs taking care of in the present.

Rand: "ah, thanks" Rand whispers back while lowering his mace

Ro turns red at what the woman says

The woman looks back to Ro

Ro mumbles something back

Toryn: " Sister we are here to aid you , no matter what your decision " says Toryn firmly " If your honor demands that you do not apologize to this woman, we shall respect it "

The woman: Since I have no wish for your friends to lose their lives for your poor decisions, I will give you a choice.

Ro: they make their own decisions as do I. They do things they want, as do i.

Ro points at Toryn while looking at the woman

Ro: i am not the one betraying my believes, he is. And i am sorry for his lost dream to save and protect the innocent

Ro points at Aikira

Toryn: Toryn looks uneasy as all hell as he says it however looking at the remaining gnoll forces who have already kicked his butt once

Ro: for him i am not sorry at all. He is only breathing to kill and destroy, me not killing these gnolls only means to him there are more gnolls to slay

Ro points at Rand

The woman: I am not asking you to protect the innocent as does your brother. I have no interest in that. My interest is that you are willing to throw your friends and family to the beasts to die alone.

Rand looks at the ghostly woman and Ro and tries to figure out what is happening, he can't seem to put a finger on who the ghostly woman is though and that makes his understanding near impossible

Ro: i do not understand him, at first he feared battle, now he is bloodlusting for it...

Aikira firmly holds his katana

Toryn: " I know " says Toryn looking at the ghostly woman then Rand, " I don't have a clue either "

The woman: I am also not asking you to slay the gnolls.

Toryn: Toryn frowns again at the woman

Ro points at the lady

Ro: and you... what can i say about you? you were dancing out in the sunshine while the people you want me to protect could have been killed

Rand wipes the drool from his mouth while looking completely blank at the ghostly woman

The woman: That is the difference between you and I. You could never begin to compare yourself, a mortal, to that of the gods. To do so is folly, but we already know that you court folly.

erus (Aikira): that's a religion roll

Petra (The woman): not good enough

The woman: Again, I will offer you a choice and forgive your folly.

The woman: Are you willing to listen, Ro of the Orcs?

Rand sits down on the floor wondering if he can meditate here while waiting on whatever is going on

Ro: i will say what has to be said

Ro says her last line in orcish almnost hissing at the woman

Rand motions to Sunfall to start his meditation too in hope of vanguishing the gnolls once this is over

Toryn: Toryn winces knowing that possibly can't be good

The woman shakes her head sadly

The woman: I offer you two choices. The first is to do simply as I ask to restore your bardic powers.

Ro shouts at the woman in orcish

Ro: I SAID I WOULD SAY IT, DAMN YOU. NOW WHO IS THE STUBBORN ONE?

Ro turns to Toryn and takes a deep breath

The woman: The second choice would be to go back to the point before the gnoll was killed. Your promise will be kept by your party this time.

Ro her head to the lady

Ro: they made their choice that time, who are you to justify someones choice? who are you to think you have the right to change people?

Vincent (Rand): shake or nod

Ro: they did everything out of their own free will, as did i

Vincent (Rand): or throws

Vincent (Rand): which would loko weird, but you never know with gods close by

The woman seems to grow

Ro: now lets get this over with and give me my voice back to speak to them

The woman (loudly): Who am I? I am one of the divine. I was made by he that is Nameless to rule on my plane as well as the plane of mortals. What I ask is who are YOU, Ro the Wayard, to question a goddess or the divine?

Ro says something back firmly to stubborn to look away

Toryn: Toryn looks even more alarmed " Sister if the gods and goddesses appear to me it's not too far a stretch for them to appear to you as well - for Marr's sake, show respect to this woman ! "

The woman: You are who you are because you were touched by MY divine hand. You have now pushed that hand.

Ro: i do not question who you are or what you are. But i do question your motives and your actions. As is my right to do by birth to believe the motivations and actions of different gods by freedom

Rand softly hums, trying to get into a deep concentration and trying to drown out the verbal battle around him

-> ro: you feel a soft tingle through your body

The woman turns her head to Toryn

Ro closes her eyes at the words Toryn speaks and sighs

The woman: You, paladin of the Marr Twins, are asking what you have no right to ask.

Rand gives up his meditation, the conversation annoys and distracts him too much

Toryn: " I know milady but I ask anyways - I have charged myself with the protection of my younger sister - she is ... well, young... unschooled in the ways of the world ... "

Ro turns to Toryn and tries to speak normal common language

Rand gets up, walks to Toryn and smacks him over the head

Rand then walks to Ro and does the same...

Toryn: " Ouch ! " complains Toryn in mid-heroic-speech...

Rand: "Now start being sensible and stop being stubborn" Rand lectures Ro

Ro: "Toryn, let it be, please. This is for me to do"

Ro turns to the woman and says something in orcish

Ro: as for me... as i said i would say what had to be said

Rand: "It is not your place to talk Toryn and you know this" Rand lectures Toryn, assuming his short lecture of Ro helped enough

The woman: There will be a day, and it is coming soon, that mortals will once again learn that they are not here simply to be here. Each of you, whether you believe or not, have a divine purpose. Be it your mighty strength, your skills at healing, your protection of nature, or the protection of innocents.

The woman: One day soon, you mortals will learn that you are simply existing on borrowed time for your morals will be the end of you.

Rand nods at this lecture from the godess (this much Rand figured out)

The woman turns to Ro once again

Ro: "if there is noone left to believe in the gods... then what is your purpose? " Ro asks the woman in common language

The woman: Then say what needs to be said, and I will only hope your empty heart will learn to follow.

The woman smiles without humor.

The woman: It is lucky for us that we do not exist on mortals beliefs alone, isn't it?

The woman: Unluckly for you that you exist on the divine beings whims.

Ro: "Now let this be over with" Ro says as she turns to Toryn

The woman: I will be listening, and watching...Ro the Wayward.

The woman starts to dissapate like smoke as Ro says what she has been asked to say

Toryn: Toryn watches the gnolls warily

Ro: "Toryn, i am sorry. Not for not going in this cave with you, but for you killing defensless creatures, for you to ravage their home. If you would have done this in the orc camp, you would have killed me too, as you might have killed harmless and innocent beeings here already. I am sorry for you in a way betraying your own believes"

Toryn: " They've captured and murdered fellow knights of mine , virtous champions of good ! " pleads Toryn

Rand puts his hand on Toryns shoulder, letting him know he agrees with him

Toryn: " Mithaniel Marr gifts me with the ability to see darkness within any living creature's heart - and I see darkness here, no light "

Ro: "So did the orcs, and yet you spared my life and were even prepared to give yours for mine when Aikira tried to attack me. When they wanted to kill the gnoll you did nothing to stop them"

Rand: "They were evil Ro" Rand says simply

Toryn: " True, true " says Toryn looking down shamefacedly " I let the arguments of the others sway me and I shouldn't have - it won't happen again " says Toryn firmly looking at Rand and Sunfall and Aikira

Ro turns to Rand

Toryn (Toryn): Detect Evil on all the remaining gnolls evil GM

Evil GM: Evil

Ro: "as for you, i am sorry for the way you seem to have lost yourself. From a poor defenseless priest to a bloodlusted maniac. Yet i hope you find your true innerself."

Ro turns to sunfall

Rand smiles being perfectly happy with who he is right now

Toryn: " But ro these are evil - this is what the divine sight of Marr tells me ! " pleads Toryn gesturing to the gnolls " they'll slaugher more innocents - innocents who can't defend themselves - if we don't stop them now "

Aikira: we must stop them. for heaven's sake!

Ro: "so did us, orcs do. And if you didn't stop us, we would have done also."

At this point, the gnolls slowly start coming unfrozen

Ro: "So DO Aikira's people, they mean to destroy everything in the world"

Aikira: don't be a hypocrit little one! you have also slain other creatures!

Rand raises his mace, getting ready to continue this fight

Toryn: " We slaughtered human evil cultists sister - it's not about their race it's about whether they serve the forces of darkness - there are champions of light within them all though - you're one, Aikira is another - sister the gnolls ready themselves to attack - will you fight by our side ? "

Ro: "i did, only to find out, i do not like taking other lives" Ro replies Aikira

Aikira: that's foolish to say, you only killed to find out, you don't like that

Rand: "which is very noble, but we have to choose our own death or their death now, GET READY" Rand says, yelling the last part

Ro: "it is about their actions Toryn, now u judge beeings on what they are, not what they do. You are human, you kill orcs. Do i judge u on that? i only judge u on what u do for me"

Toryn: " We

Aikira: shut UP! we are waisting our time here, those gnolls are tainted with evil? and it were the same gnolls how kidnapped me!

Toryn: " We'll continue this later sister " says Toryn desperately turning towards the gnoll shaman - " Aikira, get him ! "

Toryn (Toryn): Toryn points at the gnoll in pink

Aikira: If you would have been kidnapped, you wouldn't have a problem with us killing them in order to save and free you

Toryn: " Aikira, the shaman ! " shouts Toryn reading his sword

Aikira: he is to far away!

Toryn (Toryn): he's right next to you Aikira, the guy in pink ;)

Aikira: aha!

Evil GM: Order is: Ro, Aikira, Cael, Rand, Toryn, Gnolls

Vincent (Rand): Sunfall gated i guess... or went splat like a normal wizard

Ro: "first they would have to catch me, Aikira' Ro says with a bitter laugh

The gnolls become fully unfrozen, and like time never paused, continue attacking in their full fury

Toryn: " Sister, aid us ! " shouts Toryn desperately , " Otherwise we may not survive - Sunfall has no magic left within him ! "

Aikira: I'm am ashamed of you ro. maybe you're nothing but an orc anyhow. If these are your final words then get out of my sight...for ever

Toryn: " Not now brother ! After the battle ! " Toryn hisses desperately at Aikira , still swinging his sword

Aikira spits on the ground, angered by ro's treason

Toryn (Toryn): taking any actions this round Ro ?

Ro takes a step to the right and throws her axe between Toryn and Rand at the orcs

Toryn: " Thank you sister ! " cheers Toryn

Ro: would hit 2 -3 or 4 orcs?

-> ro: btw...if you pick up the "precise shot" feat next time a feat is available, I'll let you wave the -4 penalty as if it were a bow

Toryn (Toryn): actually they're gnolls b.t.w. Ro ;)

-> ro: I'll allow 3

Ro throws with all her force

Evil GM: Roll it

Kenny (Ro): i did the -4 already

Evil GM: roll again to see if it crits

Kenny (Ro): had +8 ranged

Vincent (Rand): better go matrix on us Toryn

Toryn (Toryn): I'd need two hand held crossbows and several ranks in Acrobatics for that :P

Evil GM: Roll for the second gnoll

The axe cleaves half of the shaman gnoll's head from it's skull, and it drops to the ground dead.

Evil GM: Second misses...roll third

Evil GM: roll damage

Ro: "you call that treason, you poor poor dark elf?"

Toryn: " Ro ! " cheers Toryn triumphantly at the shaman's death

Ro laughs bitterly

The axe misses the second gnoll, but cuts the third deeply before returning magically to Ro

Aikira swings at gnoll 3

Petra (Evil GM): yea, please....just lost 2 players in my Thurs game

Evil GM: Roll damage

erus (Aikira): first for crit right?

Evil GM: No, your sword crits on a 20

Aikira: huh? I thought on 19

Evil GM: nevermind...yes it does

Evil GM kneels on the ground and closes her eyes, trying to block out the battle to regain a bit of her precious healing power.

Evil GM: That's supposed to be Cael.../sigh

Rand moves up and tries to whack orc 1 as hard as possible

Evil GM: GNOLL...it's a GNOLL damnit. Why do you people keep typing orc!!!! lol

Rand: Rand swings his mace at his target doing damage [1d8 = 3]

Toryn (Toryn): have 'em start yipping and barking and biting, that should do it ! :P

Toryn: " Get out of my way servant of darkness, it's your master I'm after ! " toryn bellows at (gnoll 3 )

Gnoll 1 gets another wack in on Rand for 3 slashing

Toryn (Toryn): Aikira if you delay your action to act same time as me on a bull rush next round evil GM might be nice enough to give us flanking bonuses on gnoll 3 ;)

Rand 's eyes are egtting bloodshot anger showing on his face

Evil GM: The second gnoll also connects with Aikira (7 damage)

The third misses Toryn completely

erus (Aikira): 33

Evil GM: Yea, nothing changed

Toryn (Toryn): bow and arrow maybe Ro ?

Ro: do i have a clear sight at the boss orc or something in between us?

Evil GM: BTW...ignore that thing in the center of the room...it doesn't exist

Rand swings his mace up this time, hoping to hit a Gnoll jaw along the way

Ro shouts over her shoulder to Aikira,'you selfish bastard, you claim me to be the coward and traitor, yet u are letting Toryn die for your own profit!"

The chief looks at you dead in the eyes, smiles revealing rotted teeth, and laughs in your face

Evil GM: Gnoll 1 swings on Rand, doing 7pts of damage

Gnoll 6 swings at Toryn, it's sword glances off his armor and hits gnoll 4 for 7pts of damge

Rand starts to laugh out loud, not even bothered by the wounds on his body, his red eyes and manical grin make him look like a madman

Gnoll 4 growls and smacks gnoll 6 for 9pts of damage

Toryn (Toryn): damn these gnolls got real clumsy all of a sudden - not that I'm complaining :P

Gnoll 5 hits Toryn for 5pts of damage

With the sword in his sword hand, the chief manages to get one hit in on Toryn (5 damage

Toryn: Toryn staggers backwards but still glares at the cheif, never taking his eyes off him

-> ro: you can't see his face very well, but you do notice that the gnoll "fur" is just that...furs that someone is wearing

Ro goes stand over Toryn

Ro: while swinging at the chief

Ro: "STAY AWAY FROM HIM" Ro hisses at the chief

Chief grunts from the axe chops, then laughs at Ro

Toryn (Toryn): never mind

Chief: You shall serve wonderfully under my furs at night you pretty halfbreed

The hood of the Chief's gnoll hide cape flips over revealing a bluish ink stained, bald head. There are many scars crisscrossing his head as tattoos of different runes

Caelianna: Again murmers a prayer and tries healing Toryn

Rand keeps swinging at Gnoll 6 with all his fury

Toryn: Rising to his feet for the SECOND time Toryn roars " This time you die cheiftain

Toryn: " Marr aid me ! " (casts minor healing as a free action)

Evil GM: lucky paladin

Toryn (Toryn): that's better !

Toryn: " YOU surrender ! " bellows Toryn ineffectively

Gnoll 6 tries hitting rand but misses

Toryn (Toryn): " ummm... you're going to surrender now " says Toryn in his best nerd voice, fingering his pocket protector and pushing his glasses up :P

Chief: The other two gnolls are just as inaffective

Quickly, with his sword hand, the Chief manages to get two quick blows in on Toryn

With an impressive deftness, the huge warrior swings both of his blades in a blurring motion, hitting Toryn at the same time so fast, Toryn has no time to think about what is happening to him

Chief: Beg your gods for mercy paladin for you will now be seeing them!

Ro going totally out of her mind Ro swing at the chieftain

Ro: "THERE WILL BE NO SURRENDER NOR ANY MERCY TO YOU BASTARD!" Ro cries out

Aikira face completly darkens, he get's furious, he will kill them all, and everyone who stands in his way, tonight he will eat the flesh of the warrior that slayed his friend!

Chief laughs at Ro, and licks his lips at her

Aikira cries in victory, but it sounds more like the roar of a wild beast

Rand: "I think it is time we get our asses out of here, i hear the howl, bark and jowl in mourning, but i bet they will come after us soon" Rand says while removing the Gnolls head and stuffing it in a bag

Rand: "Aikira, you carry Toryn's body and let's get out of here fast" Rand says

Rand 's eyes slowly start turning white again, the rage fading

Ro picks up the swords and puts behind her belt and starts dragging Toryn out of the cave without saying a word

Toryn (Toryn): loot the body - quickly !

Caelianna does one last heal, on Aikira (6 pts)

erus (Aikira): do you people got the swords from the chief and all the stuff he has on him

Toryn (Toryn): man after all that get some magic items or gold or something out of it ! :P

Evil GM: haha

Kenny (Ro): atm i got em behind my belt

Rand: "Nothing wothwhile, except the head" Rand says, tossing the bag on his back and ushering the group out of the cave

Ro: "can one of u idiots help me drag Toryn dammit?" Ro yells at the others while trying to drag Toryn

Ro: i knew they would forget about the swords lol that is why i took em and put em behind my belt already lol

Evil GM: LOL...Ok, that's it for this week. For now Toryn will have to sit up with Mithanial Marr, annoying him with all of his chatter
