Evil GM: Mistress Viola has just begged her leave of the group and has gone back to her house to bed and the Priestess has gone to the back of the temple to her room.

Toryn: " Having said that, we have a decision to make - do we use the scroll or not ? "

Rand nods vigoriously

Ro shrugs

erus (Aikira): about the network configuration, did everyone receive that?

Toryn: " That's one vote for using it - Marr (and Druzzil Ro ) help us " says Toryn looking at Rand

Toryn (Toryn): by network config do you mean the map ?

erus (Aikira): guess so

Sunfall: We'll make do Toryn, sometimes you have no control over who hounds you, why or when

A golden light starts to materialize in the center of the temple, near the alter.

Toryn: Toryn winces slightly " I've had enough of him harassing the good people of Freeport, the last thing I want is him harassing my friends too ... that's two votes for the scroll, Ro is undecided - what's this ? "

Aikira: I'll say we kill them all! their threats mean nothing to me, my blade is sharper then their tongues

As the light grows brighter and brighter, everyone is blinded by the glow and gets a sense of love and peace. Toryn is completely overcome and falls to his knees.

Sunfall squints trying to see into the light

Evil GM: The light slowly starts to dim allowing everyone to witness a lady, dressed in white, standing before them.

Aikira draws his katana, still trying to look into the light

Ro slowly backs away from the light backwards

Sunfall finds himself smiling happily for no reason at the lady in white

Rand bows

The woman's dress is simple and white, without adornments. Her golden hair is worn long and loose about her shoulders. Her skin is milky white and without blemish. The only piece of jewlery she seemingly wears is a heart shaped necklace about her throat.

Ro hides behind Aikira

Toryn: " Blessed lady of the Marr Twins what have we done to deserve the honor of your presence ? Words fail me ! " says Toryn openly weeping

Rand pats Toryn on the shoulder

Erollsi Marr nods to Toryn's address

Toryn: " This is one of the two godly twins our order worships - to see one of them in person is every faithful worshipper's dream " Toryn explains to everyone else all choked up

Aikira notices toryn getting all soft on the lady in white and sheathens his sword, looking at ro

Erollsi Marr: You stand in my temple and have prayed to me, what else could I do but make my presence known?

Ro looks up at Aikira and backs away from him too

Toryn: " Milady - I hope you will not strike me down for my impertinence but I beg of you a favor ... this one " Toryn gestures at Rand " Worships Druzzil Ro , one of the goddesses not devoted to darkness - he has fought bravely by our side against evil cultists who tortured and murdered innocent villagers before bringing them back as the foul undead or worse - he has fought with us shoulder to shoulder against the forces of darkness - and he is greviously wounded "

Rand beckons Ro to come closer

Sunfall blinks himself to his senses, and kneels with a deep bow before Erollsi Marr

Erollsi Marr nods to Sunfall and gestures for him to rise.

Erollsi Marr: Why of course I will heal him.

Erollsi Marr looks to Rand

Toryn: " Praise be to you blessed lady ! " exclaims Toryn...

Rand looks up at the godess with pleading eyes.

Sunfall slowly gets back to his feet

Erollsi Marr: But know this. I can only heal what is on the outside. What is on this inside, (walks over to Rand and gently places her hands on his face) only you can heal yourself and I pray that you do it before it consumes you.

Erollsi Marr: hands start to glow as she speaks to Rand

Ro stares at Erolissi Marr in utter amazement not comprehending what is happening

Erollsi Marr steps back and Rand's face is healed completely, without a mark.

Erollsi Marr waves her hand at Toryn, dismissing his fear.

Ro starts to bite her small clawlike nails nervously at the view of this

Toryn: " In his own defense " pleads Toryn " While he was raised by the forces of darkness he himself does not carry darkness within his heart - or so I have seen thanks to the divine blessing Mithaniel marr has so graciously blessed our order with - is he not a rare gift milady? One who has rescued himself from the darkness surrounding him? "

Erollsi Marr shakes her head sadly.

Erollsi Marr: This is a healing I can't provide for like your priest, it must be healed within himself.

Aikira looks confused, what is all the ruckus about, he acts like he always did.

Aikira wants to react, how does she dare to insult him like that, he has always fought well and protected the others, he has a code! honour! does she question that! but he will hold his tongue for now, in regard of the gift she gave to rand.

Toryn: Still kneeling Toryn waits expectantly open mouthed

Erollsi Marr: He says that the decision you are about to make tonight will influence the outcome of your quest. On one hand, your decision has the ability to bring you closer to doing what needs to be done. On the other hand, the opposite decision will put it further out of your reach and make success less likely.

Toryn: " I see " says Toryn gravely " If I may be so bold as to ask milady .. I suppose for all my uncharitable anger towards him (Mithaniel forgive me) I'd always secretly hoped my father could be reformed - perhaps this is of what the mighty Mithaniel Marr speaks ?

Erollsi Marr sighs sadly.

Erollsi Marr dissapears in a ball of golden light.

Toryn: Then realizes he is speaking to the empty air

Rand looks surprised at the last bit of the conversation

Toryn: " Rand - can you speak my friend ? " asks Toryn looking at him

Sunfall suddenly looks saddened as the feeling of peace and love leaves him as does Erollsi Marr

Ro: "whaat waas thaat?" Ro gasps as she lost focus and understanding after the first line spoken

Toryn: " Excellent ! " shouts Toryn " Praise be to Erollisi Marr - I shall sing praises in her honor tonight ! "

Aikira shivers a bit, he tries to shake off the weird feeling he just felt as long as the lady in white was there

Rand: "Thanks to Erollsi for healing my face, what one trip over your own feet can do" He grins

Sunfall: looks to Rand and smiles "So he can speak after all! You know for the longest time I just figured you were daft."

Rand laughs at Sunfalls joke and pats him on the back

Aikira hits rand on the shoulder, bit ruff but with good intent

Sunfall: now who is this Xegony you all have failed to tell me about?

Aikira: I missed your remarks priest, it's good to have you speaking again

Rand: "You know, this will pake praying to Druzzil easier as well as my personal quests in Freeport" Rand says

Rand: "Now that my face has been healed i wish to change my vote for the scroll" Rand says, "Chances are we end up far far away from Freeport, ruining any chances we have to do anything there"

Toryn: " Well " says Toryn firmly trying to come back to his senses , still with an awed look on his face " It's no surprise that Erollis Marr- praise be her name - didn't tell us which decisio to make - the gods and goddesses try to preserve our free will and this is there way of doing so, letting us make our own decisions "

Toryn: " We should vote again " says Toryn " Rand is now against using the scroll - Aikira we never got your vote "

Toryn: " No actually we did " chuckles Toryn

Toryn: " If I'm interpreting correctly you're not afraid of my father's forces in the slightest - you say that we don't bother with the scroll and fight our way out ?"

Aikira: I'll go along with the group, but I still think it's for the best if we kill the men outside and make our own way to freeport

Rand: "I would agree, especially now that i can heal you guys again. We can also use my spell Obscuring Mist to make them think that we left" Rand says

Toryn: " Normally I'd agree but you don't know what kind of honorless bastards we're up against " Toryn explains " They wouldn't hesitate to grab an innocent woman or child and hold it hostage to force our cooperation "

Aikira: I know how to fight dirty toryn, they will not fool me in taking hostages

Ro draws her axe and goes to stand next to Aikira

Toryn: " Although that Obscuring Mist blessing from Ro - that sounds interesting, we could leave without any risk to the townspeople here if we're lucky "

Aikira smiles and pets her on the shoulders

Toryn: " Sunfall what do you think ? "

Aikira: you might prove yourself to be a better warrior then bard little one, I like that

Sunfall: I think they would not have found us unless they were already adept at tracking, or had someone who was good at finding those who don't want to be found. I think our best chance is to take flight as fast and as far away as possible

Sunfall attempts to remove some gunk in his ear that is appearantly blocking his hearing

Toryn: " Oh - well I see everything that happens as the work of the Marr twins anyways " says Toryn serenely

Sunfall begins walking around the room, looking to the key for any changes in it's behavior

Evil GM: Everyone but sunfall give me a spot roll

Toryn: " But religion aside - we should vote again (and start trying that key in every lock we encounter until we find out what it opens ) "

The key doesn't seem to do anything unusual as Sunfall walks around the room. It thrums softly and strobes.

Aikira walks over to ro and grabs her not to ruffly by the shoulders

Sunfall: Tala told me to do as the key bids, and the note we recieved also had the symbol of the key, and the note gave advice that many eyes were watching us, and that we should leave Nearfield

Toryn: " Quickly then - should we put Rand's plan into action - use the divine blessings of Druzzil Ro to hide our steps and flee?"

Toryn: " Rand has already voted for that "

Ro spits out a coin and yells,' aaaaaaaawwwwwwwww'

Ro starts to feel at her teeth

Toryn: " This obscuring mist Rand - I'm guessing it would work best at night ... what time are we supposed to be escorted out of town by my father's men? Anyone remember

Sunfall leans against the door to the church and listens outside

Aikira: in the morning I pressume

Rand: "It works at any time as it creates a non moving column of mist about 20ft in diameter" Rand says, "We cannot use it to walk out, we have to wait in it till they are done searching the place and content with us being gone"

Sunfall: Strange, the key appeared to cool as soon as I let it go... and now that Toryn's ranting again it's acting up

Toryn: " I see - or we can use it to make our escape - perhaps if Ro sung a spell at the same time - what's that, the key's responding to me ?"

Toryn: " Can I see it ? "

Rand: "You sure it's not warning us from you" Rand says to Sunfall slightly grinning

Sunfall: I think it may be responding to what we're saying.

Sunfall: Our other plan, was to allow Rand to cast obscuring mist, as we make our escape hastily

Sunfall considers washing this key now that everyone's had their chance with it

Sunfall nods and takes the key back into his hand

Evil GM: The key starts glowing and thrumming again.

Rand starts to laugh

Sunfall: There it goes again! It appears to like me.

Rand: "The key is obviously a joke from Tala making triggered to Sunfall in some way" Rand laughs

Toryn: " Well long as it doesn't burn you again - let's vote ... how many of us are in favor of Rand's obscuring mist spell ?"

Rand raises his hand

Ro goes to lie on a bench in the temple to sleep

Toryn: Toryn stomps over to the door and puts an ear to it

Evil GM: The key brightens to an almost white light

Toryn: " Perhaps the key likes that plan " comments Toryn.. " Rand's in favor of it, ro is asleep - Sunfall ? "

Sunfall: I am not sure I am in favor... but the key seems to have an opinion on Rand's plan, but I'm not sure what it means

Rand walks to Sunfall and touches the key

Toryn: " One vote for the mist, one against - Aikira ? "

Sunfall: What of the other plan? If we take Mistress Viola's scroll and use it to escape, what does the key think then?

Rand: "YAWWWWWW" Rand yowlls

Toryn: " True , true " Toryn looks expectantly at the key

Aikira: it's fine for me, let's go with rand's magic and I'll keep of anyone who attacks us, so the rest can flee, I'll join later if we get separated

Toryn: " The other priestesses might have felt honor bound to let our enemies know what was happening, if I understood Viola correctly " Toryn explains

Sunfall: Well at first I thought the glowing meant it was happy. But now that it's burning me, I'm not so sure

Rand: "I think the spell has some sort of augury spell cast on it. It is trying to tell us that the mist is obviously a bad idea" Rand says

Sunfall shows his hand, there's a slight burn mark in the shape of a key

Toryn: " Well let's see how it responds to this - sorry Sunfall " Toryn gives the key back to Sunfall " We want to keep that factor constant " ...

Toryn: " Votes on whether or not to use the scroll again - sorry everyone"

Toryn: " Rand could you bandage Sunfall up ? I feel badly that he's becoming injured as a result of our experiments - but Sunfall much as I hate to say this keep holding the key with your other hand - if one of us grabs the key it could change the whole augury "

Rand looks at sunfalls hands and binds the one with a burn mark

Sunfall mutters something about what he'll do to Tala when he finds her

Toryn: " Well I'm sure the ranger was only trying to help " soothes Toryn

Aikira: no, but as I said, I'll go along with the group, someone has to watch over you all

Vincent (Rand): the burn mark is already starting to fade btw

Sunfall peers closely at the key, trying to figure it out

Toryn (Toryn): evil GM when was Viola supposed to show up with the scroll ?

Toryn: " And I hate to say this all but key or no " toryn adds " If for some reason Viola doesn't show up with the scroll - Rand I'd suggest you use the Mist spell if we're going to fight our way out - that or going along peacefully would be our only two options at that point "

Toryn: " Damn horses are hard to come by " curses Toryn " It will cost us a pretty penny to replace them ! I

Toryn: " and I've grown fond of my mount "

Sunfall puts the key back into his pouch

Toryn (Toryn): well didn't that sound obscene? :P

Sunfall: So I supose we may try to get as much rest as we can until first light?

Rand: "No need to keep watch Aikira, get som sleep" Rand says

Sunfall slumps on a bench somewhere and mutters a little about riddles and rangers

Aikira: we can't be carefull enough rand

Toryn: " I'd like to think the priestesses would protect us " says Toryn reluctantly " But my father has connections with necromancers and other wizards - I agree, you take the first watch Aikira, I'll take the second"

Rand shrugs and gets into his bedroll

Sunfall: Agreed

Aikira: no offence rand, but I do not trust those men outside

Evil GM: Actually.....everyone wisdom rolls please

Rand: "it's 2am and first light is at 5am, we only need one watch anyways" Rand says as he turns over to sleep

Toryn: " Three shifts of one hour watches then " says toryn firmly

Toryn: " Some sleep is better than none"

Toryn: " Actually two shifts Aikira and I will split it - let those who can call on magic get their rest "

Aikira: go to sleep then brother, i'll watch over our safekeeping for now

Rand: "That is pointless Toryn and you know it. Noone would be rested with 3 1 hour watches" Rand says

Aikira says to toryn while drawing his katana

Toryn: " Everyone go to sleep please " calls out Toryn " I know you'll keep us safe brother while we rest " says Toryn clapping Aikira on the back

The three watches of one hour apiece fly by and soon Priestess Bobanna is coming into the temple proper carrying an ornately carved case.

Evil GM: Who is on third watch?

erus (Aikira): toryn took second watch, there were only two watches

Toryn: Toryn's awake - he wakes everyone else then bows respectfully to Bobanna

Toryn: " We have decided to take you up on your generous offer - many thanks to you milady - fallen paladin or no I'm sure the Marr Twins smile upon you "

Priestess Bobanna: Toryn, it is time to wake the others for the time to make your decision draws near as do your escorts to Freeport

Ro wipes the sleep from her eyes

Priestess Bobanna smiles kindly at Rand

Rand stretches out and yawns before quickly packing up his belongings

Aikira stretches and then sheathens his sword, he keeps it next to him every time he goes to sleep

Priestess Bobanna turns and walks back out of the room, shutting the door behind her.

Sunfall stretches awake and looks dumbly at the others moving about

Sunfall mutters something about what he's gotten himself into

Toryn: Toryn looks at the scroll then gives it to Sunfall " You probably know the most about magic scrolls friend - here, what do you make of it ? "

Boom, Boom, Boom -- Pounding on the main temple door that leads to the outside

Aikira immediatly draws his sword again

Toryn: " On second thought perhaps you'd just read - or cast - it quickly " says Toryn hastily to Sunfall

Sunfall takes the scroll and examines it

Evil GM: Give me a second

Sunfall: I'm not entirely sure I can use this scroll... I'll do my best, but is there anyone who can help me with my competence a little? I know some divine casters who are capable of such

Petra (Evil GM): sorry about the wait. what the discussion is about is how to use the scroll since I've never used one in D&D before and the EQ system doesn't have just one shot scrolls

Toryn: " Rand ? " says Toryn looking at the priest

Sunfall looks to Rand and Ro

Rand: "I can take a look, sure" rand answers

Toryn: " quickly " adds Toryn in emphasis looking at the door with the fists pounding on it

Rand starts reading the text on the scroll out loud while waving his hands to gather closely

Ro moves closer curiously

Rand slowly finishes the text while waving everyone closer frantically

As Rand reads the text from the scroll, stumbling over unfamiliar words, he starts to glow. A crackling noise can be heard, like there's static electricity in the air.

Sunfall is suddenly glad he doesn't have a mop of hair

As he reads the final words, there's a loud "pop" and you can hear shouting from somewhere outside of the electricity being formed. Suddenly you have the sensation that you're falling.

Each of you seem to lose track of time as you're being sucked along the vortex. Colors swirl around you and suddenly, you hit the ground hard.

Even though he landed fairly hard, Toryn is actually feeling pretty good for travelling through a vortex.

Ro is passed out on the ground.

Sunfall and Rand, while a little wobbly are ok but have the sense they don't want to do that anytime soon.

Aikira feels like he's about to puke.

Aikira puts a hand on his belly while he sits on his knees feeling awfull

Toryn: " Sister ! " shouts Toryn clumsily stumbling to his feet and clanking towards her

Aikira then he looks around and sees his katana lying a little further, stumbles over there and picks it up and sheatens it

Toryn: He lifts her up and gently puts her head on his lap then looks around " Where in the name of Mithaniel Marr are we ? "

You seem to have landed on a road which stretches as far as you can see before you and behind you. To either side are hills. There are some trees, rocks, but nothing else.

Aikira: this is just great aikira grunts still not feeling so well

Toryn: " Hmmm - doesn't look like Freeport " says Toryn darkly - he then turns his attention to Ro

Toryn: " Everyone else all right ? " toryn calls out...

Sunfall: Wherever we are now has to be better than Nearfield... I hope

Sunfall: "I am myself, which I suppose will have to do ser Toryn."

Rand checks his face and then nods

Toryn (Toryn): Toryn examines Ro to see what's up

Evil GM: She's fine and apparently un-hurt...just passed out from the ride.

Toryn: Toryn sighs in relief

Sunfall: Can anyone tell what directions this road follows?

Evil GM: So, you guys are somewhere you apparently haven't been.....what now? ;-)

Toryn: " Fascinating - we've lost a few hours " comments Toryn

Toryn: " Wake up ro " says Toryn gently shaking her

Ro opens her eyes slowly

Ro moans

Sunfall: Pointing to the Sun "Can anyone tell which direction we're facing by the way the sun is moving?"

Toryn: " It's all right little sister - we're safe " says Toryn reassuringly stroking her cheek

Ro: 'whaat happened?' Ro ask with a soar throat

Toryn: " Magic " explains Toryn " It took us away from the men my father sent after us - but now we don't know where we are "

Rand tries to see if the vegitation tells him where he is

Toryn: As soon as Ro recovers a bit Toryn helps her to her feet " We should follow this trail, see where it heads "

Toryn: " I want my horse damn it " curses Toryn " Still praise be to the Marr Twins, we're alive and well "

Aikira: alive sure, well...

Aikira says will spitting on the ground, he is getting better, but still a bit queasy

Toryn: Toryn looks around some more - hoof prints, anything of the sort ?

Toryn (Toryn): sorry that should have been an ooc comment - any hoof prints or the like on the trail ?

Toryn (Toryn): or footprints ?

Evil GM: There seems to be lots of hoof marks going up and down both ways as well as footprints and wagon tracks

Toryn: " Well we can either go this way " toryn points up towards the tree?

Toryn: " Or back the other way " toryn points towards the rock

Toryn: " Any preferences anyone ? "

Ro gets on her feet dizzy and trembling

Toryn (Toryn): I'll skin you alive this time screams Toryn turning purple with rage and running towards the foul beast

Bobby (Sunfall): can I disbelieve the griffon I don't see? xD

Petra (Evil GM): haha

Toryn: " I say we head in Sunfall and Rand's direction past that tree up there "

Toryn: " Aikira, which way should we go ?

Petra (Evil GM): think someone is disbelieving the road too...feels like the part of the neverending story where the world is crumbling

Sunfall: Might as well follow the road one way or another... *points*

Aikira: does no one has any idea of our whereabouts

Rand nods in agreement

Aikira: maybe we could flip a coin

Toryn: " Unfortunately not, I don't recognize the area at all - all I know is it was early morning before we used that scroll, now it's afternoon"

Ro goes sit down to lose her dizzy feeling

Toryn: Toryn interrupts himself to sit down next to her , tending to her concernedly " It's all right sister, the dizziness will pass "

Evil GM: So...going up or down?

Rand: "Hmm, temperate climate, not too hot, not too cold. Doesn't say much now does it, the vegetation i mean" Rand says

erus (Aikira): where is the forests density bigger, to the north or the south?

Ro: 'no moore maagic foor mee pleese' Ro mutters

Petra (Evil GM): neither...just random trees

Sunfall points 'up'

Toryn: " I wish I could promise that little sister - but that probably won't be the only desperate situation we get into " explains Toryn

Aikira nods at sunfall

Aikira: I'll suggest we go up too

Rand: "sounds good" Rand says

Evil GM: So up?

Toryn: " Up it is unless Sunfall or ro object? " says Toryn

Ro: 'doon

Toryn: Toryn helps Ro to her feet " lean on me sister - dont' want any griffons coming after us out in the open " Toryn scowls at the clear blue sunny sky

Ro: 't caare

Toryn: " Up it is " says Toryn helping Ro totter off in that direction

Toryn: " Actually - Ro you stay in back with Rand little sister, lean on him - I don't want you up front here in case there's any danger, not until you recover anyways "

Toryn: " Aikira, join me up front ? "

Aikira: consider it done brother

The group, not knowing where in the world they are now, picks a direction and starts walking.

Toryn: " Sunfall do any of those skills you mentioned include sneaking around quietly ? "

Evil GM: Spot rolls

Sunfall: Indeed they do

Some time passes as you walk and talk...

Toryn: " Perhaps you could scout ahead? " suggests Toryn

Sunfall: I can try..

Toryn: Toryn then devotes himself to glancing behind him worriedly at Ro completely oblivious to the world around him

Sunfall looks around to see if there's suitable cover, trees and the like

Ro: 'soomethiing theere' Ro exclaims pointing up ahead the road

Sunfall: there may be someone ahead, what say you to a little jog to catch up? maybe they will know where we are

Aikira: otherwise you and me should go ahead sunfall, so toryn and rand can stay with the girl untill she feels better

Toryn: " No offense but how quietly can you move brother ? " says Toryn looking at Aikira " Best not to give away our presence ... "

Ro: "i feeel goood now' ro says tripping over a rock falling on her knees

Ro gets up quickly

Toryn: " Probably more quietly than me " adds Toryn wryly looking at his clanking armor - then he shoots another worried look at Ro

Sunfall: It is likely only one person... I know you have been through much, but don't let your experiences scar you with too much worry and paranoia

Aikira: maybe you are right toryn, but nonetheless we should check wo goes in front off us

Sunfall: From the signs of the dust it appears they're actually coming to us..

Toryn: " True but when you've dealt with my father ... " says Toryn his voice trailing off darkly... " Very well "

Toryn: " Let's move ahead then "

Aikira: let's be on our guard, I'll take a few steps in front of the rest

Sunfall nods to Aikira and follows behind him

Petra (Evil GM): vince is cursing erollsi marr for not fixing rand's hearing or seeing...

Everyone but Rand see that a man is walking towards you. He seems to be in his 30s, dressed in chain armor and has a bow slung over his shoulder.

Toryn (Toryn): Detect Evil on the man followed by Detect Good

Aikira is on his guard and looks behind him and says to the others

Toryn: (toryn giving praise to Erollisi silently in his heart for her wonderous gift)

Aikira: i'll let one off you do the talking

Aikira winks

Sunfall waves hello to the main in chain mail

Evil GM: Taking the several minutes it takes to detect good and evil, toryn detects no evil but he does detect good

Toryn (Toryn): I'll let the others talk for a few minutes to reflect Toryn staring vacantly at the man ;)

Sunfall: If he seems friendly enough perhaps he can tell us where we are

A man approaches the group.

Rand raises his hand in friendly greating gesture

A man mimics Rand's greating

A man: Greetings strangers, travelling to Surefall Glade this fine day?

Rand: "Hello good man, may i ask you a few questions?" Rand starts

Aikira doesn't even lift a finger to greet the man

A man: Certaintly.

A man: What is it you'd like to know?

Rand: "Can you tell me where we are, i have never heared of Surefall Glade" Rand asks

A man looks at Rand puzzled.

Rand: "We got here through magical means used in dire need, therefor we are clueless as to where here is" Rand explains

A man: This is the Qeynos Hills, it lies between Surefall Glade, the city of Qeynos, and the Karanas...

Sunfall nods slowly

A man seems oblivious to a dark elf standing in the group.

Toryn: Toryn abruptly seems to come to life and smiles broadly at the stranger

A man: Toryn...give me a local lore roll or equivalant

Aikira stares intently at the man

Sunfall: Well this is quite unexpected, I am Sunfall, and this is Rand." *points to Rand and names his other compantions*

A man: I am Nix, pleased to meet you

Toryn: " Greetings fellow servant of the Light " calls out Toryn walking forward and clapping the man firmly on the back

Toryn: " I am Toryn, paladin in service to Mithaniel Marr and the Knights of Truth ! "

Sunfall: So tell me Nix, anything of interest happening in this area these days? It has been awhile since I last passed through here, i must say I didn't quite recognize the place

Toryn: " Thanks to Erollisi Marr's gift I know this one harbors no darkness in his soul, only light " Toryn announces to the rest of the group

Nix: Oh well, the same ol' same ol...fighting the gnolls, bandits, and what not. Trying to keep the hills free of poachers as well. You folks don't plan on hunting any black bears here do you?

Nix looks strangely at Toryn

30 minute warning to game end

Sunfall: I don't see a reason to be hunting bears, any reason you're asking friend?

Nix: We've been having a bad poaching problem. People hunting them for their furs.

Toryn: " How far are we from Freeport ? " asks Toryn curiously looking at the man

Sunfall: Quite... far.. we are on the other end of Antonica

Nix: Freeport? I'd say quite a ways...three months if you travel hard.

Sunfall: Well we might as well start back on our way there then!

Nix: Freeport lies on Antonica's east coast, you're now very close to the west coast. Qeynos is the other major port city on the continent.

Toryn: " Damn ! " curses Toryn

Sunfall begins walking up the road towards Nix and nods favorably to him

Sunfall: Let's not waste time!

Toryn: " I know we've had bad luck in towns before but having said that - perhaps we should ask Nix where the nearest town is ? "

Nix laughs.

Toryn: " Or village "

Nix: Well, it's getting to be fall and some nasty weather. I wouldn't want to be crossing the plains this time of year. But luck be with you, maybe Karana will smile favorbly on you.

Sunfall: Safe travels Nix

Rand: "We might want to go to Qeynos, i know the rulers there don't really like Lucin D'Vere

Rand: " Rand says to the group

Nix: If I were you though, I'd turn and go the other way if Freeport is your destination. If you keep going in the direction you're going, you'll end up in Surefell.

Toryn: " Interesting " says Toryn looking speculatively at Rand

Nix: Oh, and watch out for the gnolls.

Toryn: " How far ahead is surefell - and do they have any horses for sale ? " adds Toryn hopefully

Nix shrugs

Nix: About a half a day's walk and we have horses, but they're a little on the spendy side. Horses are much rarer on this side of the continent.

Sunfall: Qeynos is likely a farther travel, if we can get to Surefell I'm sure they will have horses, and we can continue on our way to Freeport

Toryn: " Understood - well unless anyone else has anything they want to ask this good man ? " toryn asks looking around at the group

Nix: Good day to you all..

Toryn: " We've held you up long enough - good luck in your battle against the gnolls friend ! "

Nix starts walking off the road and up the hill, bow out.

Evil GM: So, whatcha going to do?

Sunfall: To Surefell then?

Rand: "I wonder if we can afford horses. With our current resources i doubt it, so i would suggest starting for Qeynos" Rand says

Toryn (Toryn): during the walk that is evil GM

Sunfall: There is no work of decent pay or quality in Qeynos, it's best to cut our losses and continue on with your plans in Freeport

Rand: "But to get to Freeport we need to go in the direction of Qeynos anyways. Besides, who knows what we can arrange from a big city" Rand explains

Toryn: Toryn looks absolutely crushed for no apparent reason nd does his best to keep a look of dissapointment off his face when looking at Ro and Aikira

Toryn: " They grew up among the forces of darkness ... it will take time " toryn mutters to himself " I'll bring them to the Light "

Ro looks at Toryn puzzled

Evil GM:

Toryn: " Nothing " says Toryn loudly and a bit too brightly, hugging Ro " Nothing at all little sister ! "

Sunfall: There are creatures ahead

Sunfall points into the trees

Toryn: " What ? " says Toryn

Ro taps Toryn's shoulder and points at some creates in the trees to the side of the road

Toryn: Toryn scowls and concentrates

Toryn (Toryn): Detect Evil

Kenny (Ro): before you can react 10 elephants fall out of the nearest tree

Petra (Evil GM): after several minutes you can detect that there is indeed evil ahead

Toryn: " There are servants of darkness up ahead - beware my friends " declares Toryn drawing his sword

Aikira draws his sword

Evil GM: Init order is as follows...Ro, Aikira, Toryn, NPC, Sunfall, Rand

Evil GM: You can see two of these creatures...they look like half human, half dogs

Ro grabs her axe (as i didn't take it yet so my turn is over ;) )

Aikira runs over to the creatures and swings his blade

Toryn: " Surrender in the name of Mithaniel Marr ! " shouts Toryn swinging the flat of his blade

Toryn (Toryn): that was subdual damage by the way ;)

Petra (Evil GM): figured

The first creature swings it's longsword at Toryn...

It's clumsy and misses.

The second creature swings at Akira

Evil GM: It manages to aim correctly and slash at Aikira (5 dmg)

Sunfall draws his shortbow and fires on Aikira's target

Evil GM: fails

Rand casts Yaulp as a free action, getting an additional 3STR and 1AC benefit and then runs to the mobs and whacks them with his mace

Ro runs up to Toryn's side and swings her axe at the creature

Aikira: die you scum

Evil GM: With one mighty swing, Aikira dispatches his opponent.

Evil GM: No, you don't get it because the other creature is more than 5ft away...not to mention a tree between you two.

Evil GM: If there were opponents where the X's are, you'd be able to use cleave on them.

Evil GM: Excellent roll though

Toryn: " Don't kill this one ! " shouts Toryn " We need to question him ! "

Toryn: " Surrender - there's only one of you and five of us ! " shouts Toryn

Evil GM: Your intimidate doesn't seem to have much effect on it.

The remaining creature tries hitting Toryn, yipping as it does, to no avail

Sunfall doesn't attack, but he looks around to make sure the group is out of any further danger

Sunfall: Looks like Aikira and Toryn have this under control

Evil GM: Doesn't seem to be anymore of these creatures around

Rand puts away his mace and sighs

Ro tries to hit the creature with the flatside of her axe following Toryn's example

Evil GM: Ro misses, getting her axe stuck in the tree beside her.

Aikira: goes for subdual damage and also use Power attack for 4

Evil GM: The creature is knocked unconcious

Evil GM: That's ok...because this is where we're going to leave it. You're in the Qeynos Hills, about 3 hours from Surefell Glade with an unconcious dog/human like creature.
