Evil GM: By the time you guys stopped arguing about letting her go alone she came back out

Ro walks upto Toryn and happely tells him,' Tooryn we caan aall join Rook. Yoo oonly haave to siing too'

Toryn: " Oh " says Toryn taken aback, " I see ... well little sister even if we trusted Rook we have more important things to do ... fighting the undead, evil cultists, other forces of evil and all that .... "

Sunfall: While I do pride myself on my wonderful singing voice, there's no way in Antonica am I joining a circus

Ro goes quiet her enthousiasm visually tempered

Toryn: " Ro " says Toryn slowly " If you really do want to stay with this Rook person ... and if you trust him ... we won't stop you of course ... but we can't stay with you either "

Ro: "i caan't leeve Tooryn' Ro replies

Ro: "maany maany humaans wiill keell meeh"

The sky starts going dark, threatening rain

Toryn: Toryn smiles warmly at her " It's good to see our family ties are so close sister ... we have bards in Freeport too you know ! I'm sure one of them would be happy to teach you more song-magic ... they value talent above all else "

Sunfall: it may be time to head back the inn, without any hair the rain tends to roll straight to the eyes

Toryn: " And we won't let any humans kill you Ro, promise " says Toryn stepping up and drawing her robe about her face a bit tighter " See ? No one can tell who you are ! I've had cause to do that myself a number of times, hiding my own features "

Ro raises an eyebrow at Toryn

Toryn: Toryn chuckles at Sunfall's comment " On the positive side the sun might shine brightly enough off it to blind one's foe "

Petra (Evil GM): Vince knows that well about the rain and no hair....

Toryn: Toryn opens his mouth to explain ,visibly reconsiders, then closes it

Kenny (Ro): join the club lol

Toryn: " Sunfall's right we should get back to the inn... so Ro... you're coming with us ? "

Petra (Evil GM): it doesn't help he has a cone head either ;-)

Sunfall shrugs

Ro grabs Aikira's arm and starts walking back to the inn with him.

Ro: "offcoorse" Ro says looking back over her shoulder

The streets seem a little less crowded with the possibility of rain

Ro: "i juust siing for fuun"

Aikira simply follows ro, also pulling his cloak further over his head, petting the girl on the shoulder

Toryn: " There are parts of Freeport friendly to the Knights of my order and there are parts that are not , as I explained earlier " Toryn says once Ro is out of earshot " I didn't want to frighten her any more by telling her that ... well, let's head back... "

It starts sprinkling

Sunfall: I think a kindred may be admiring our gallant Aikira here, in the window over yonder

Sunfall nods his head but doesn't quite look in that direction

Toryn: " What ? Where ? " says Toryn , oblivious as usual ... " What do you mean by kindred ? "

Toryn: Toryn does his best to glance subtly in the direction Sunfall nods in

Sunfall: another dark elf, although I may be wrong, how many blue skinned races do you know?

erus (Aikira): are we all where toryn and sunfall stand?!

Evil GM: Regardless, you don't see anything in the window sunfall pointed out

Evil GM: I'm assuming you've been walking back in a group?

Toryn (Toryn): Toryn Detects Evil in the direction of the window

Toryn: Toryn stops taking great interest in a nearby house

erus (Aikira): did I hear sunfall saying that about the dark elf to toryn?

Bobby (Sunfall): I hope so, is he wearing earmuffs? lol

Toryn: " Look at the shutters on this thing - beautiful aren't they ? " says Toryn out loud to no one in particular while trying to use his divine sight

Aikira walks up to sunfall and whispers to him

Aikira: what did you see? another dark elf?

Toryn: Toryn sidles close to Aikira and whispers " I dont' see him - but I sense the taint of darkness close by - he could be one of your brethen but one who follows the forces of darkness... just as some humans have good in their hearts and some evil, it is the same with dark elves "

Sunfall: I believe so in a window *details the direction of said window*

Toryn: " Do you want to talk to him ? " Toryn asks Aikira

Aikira looks puzzled for a moment and then replies

Aikira: talk...absolutly

Aikira draws his katana and walks up to the door and tries to open it

erus (Aikira): is the door locked?

Ro: "whaats haapening Toryn?" ro says with a small voice

Evil GM: yes and there's a sign hanging on the door

Sunfall: *mutters* so much for subtlety

erus (Aikira): what does the sign say

Evil GM: You don't know, you can't read

Toryn: " All right then let's go knock on the door - by the Lightbringer Aikira ! " exclaims Toryn noticing his drawn katana...

erus (Aikira): lol

Toryn: Toryn walks up to the sign to see if it's in common

Bobby (Sunfall): HAHA

Evil GM: Yup, it's in common

Ro walks up to the sign to look whats to interesting about it

Bobby (Sunfall): doesn't it have a little symbol? ;)

Bobby (Sunfall): I imagine I mention it's a tailor shop in my description of where it's at

Aikira: I know dark elves toryn, and no dark elf wanders alone into a city crowded with humans

Evil GM: Haha...I assume you read the sign?

Ro puts her hand on the sign while trying to read it

"We're closed for the afternoon to enjoy the carnival, please come back in the morning"

Ro: "cloosed"

Toryn: Toryn repeats the words out loud for everyone to hear on the sign

Evil GM: Listen rolls

Aikira: we must go inside know!

Aikira: can anyone open the lock, otherwise I'll kick in the door!

Aikira looks to be impatient

Toryn: Toryn looks at Sunfall ... " You mentioned you have a variety of skills - much as I hate the thoght of breaking and entering I don't suppose opening locks is one of them? The darkness I sense could be in this building "

Evil GM: Everyone give me another set of spot rolls

Sunfall: You could simply knock.. or we under the assumption all dark elves are evil

Sunfall nods in Aikira's direction

Aikira is thinking this whole thing over, a dark elf so far away from neriac, and so close to freeport. he must be sent here to look for him, sent by that filthy gomph. He must interogate the dark elf inside this building

Ro: "whaat we dooing? iit raains" Ro muthers unhappely

Aikira knocks on the door

erus (Aikira): KNOCK KNOCK

Evil GM: No answer

Toryn: " Definitely not ! " states Toryn emphatically " Aikira is living proof that's not the case - but the LIghtbringer grants those of my order a divine sight, an ability to peer into one's soul and see if darkness resides there - and I sense the taint of evil somewhere close by " explains Toryn in his usual long winded fashion (getting soaked all the while)

Aikira knocks again

Aikira is fed up with waiting and kicks at the door

Sunfall: Oh look, the town watch

Sunfall attempts to step into Aikira's way before he kicks

Evil GM: Sunfall, reflex save

Sunfall manages to jump right into Aikira's kick before he can make contact with the door

Aikira: what are you doing?!

Aikira calls at sunfall

Sunfall: The town watch is looking quite intently at us, more interestingly, you

Towns Guard: Hey! What are you doing over there!

Aikira hides his katana under his mantle

Sunfall waves the town watch over

From across the street three armed and armored militia men come striding over, drawing their weapons

Ro: "i aam coold and weet, i goo see Raand' Ro says as she walks off (trough empty roads i assume)

Sunfall: I'm looking for a new outfit for a festivity tommorow, do you happen to know when the tailor opens?

Aikira pulls his cloak a bit more over his head, also trying to hide his bloodlusting grin

Towns Guard: You (to Ro), don't move another inch or you'll be put under arrest

Towns Guard narrows his eyes at Sunfall

Ro freezes on the spot, not daring to move

Towns Guard: You may be waiting for Mistress Valorie, but he's not (points to Aikira)

Sunfall: What makes you say that Sir?

Towns Guard 2: I saw him try to kick the door in, I did!

Towns Guard 3: And I saw his sword drawn!

Ro shuffles closer to Toryn

Toryn: Toryn looks a bit tense but calls out to the militia " Greetings fellow warriors ! I am Toryn of the Knights of Truth, from Freeport "

Sunfall: As you can see by what he's wearing, he really needs a new outfit, and is prone to bad temper

Aikira is getting agitated, he would like to kill these men in front of him

Toryn: " And I'm afraid what happened here was my fault "

Towns Guard 1 crosses his arms and glares at Aikira

Petra (Towns Guard 1): diplomacy roll

Toryn: " I thought I saw a servant of darkness here and I'm afraid my warrior ally here " Toryn nods at Aikira " Took it upon himself to do battle with said force of darkness "

Aikira glares back from under his cloak, his eyes nonetheless pretty well hidden

Towns Guard 1: Oh, your fault? Servant of darkness...I can't believe that a servant of darnkess would be laying in wait in a tailor's home but who am I to question a paladin?

Towns Guard 1: Still, I'm going to have to take him (points at Aikira) to the commander. He did try unlawfully breaking down the door.

Ro shuffles halfway behind toryn

Bobby (Sunfall): gonna give Toryn a second to handle this lol

Toryn: " You never know where darkness may rear it's ugly head my friend " says Toryn a tad dramatically ... " the Lightbringer - Mithaniel Marr - has gifted our order with the the ability to peer into the souls of others to see if darkness resides there - might I suggest we concentrate our efforts on finding out who's behind this door? If he's innocent no harm done "

Toryn: " For all you know there could be a ruffian or something worse in there holding this good citizen hostage ! "

Aikira straigthens his back a little and gently pulls out his katana from under his mantle and sticks it with it's pointy end in the ground, still holding it with both hands

Toryn: Toryn winces in the middle of his speech as Aikira does so

Evil GM: Are you trying to do that covertly or so that the guards notice it?

Toryn: " You'll have to forgive him " says Toryn hastily " He is VERY enthusastic about fighting the forces of evil and he's convinced that something rotten is within that building " Toryn gestures at Aikira as he speaks

Towns Guard 1: Put that it it's proper place or we're going to have more problems than just a door

All three guards have their weapons at the ready

Toryn: " Aikira " says Toryn softly " It's all right ... these aren't bad men, they're just trying to do their job ... "

Ro: sofly muttering Ro whispers to Aikira," Aakiraa pleeeeeeese"

Toryn: " Please, sheathe your weapon - they have no idea what resides behind that door - how could they ? "

Towns Guard 1: Spot rolls everyone

Aikira grins a bit, but looks at toryn and nods, and sheathens his sword, still looking at the guards

Toryn (Toryn): can I keep that " 19 " I rolled on the edge :) ( 22 with wisdom bonus )

Evil GM: yes

Everyone but Ro spots 3 more guards men walking your way on patrol

They don't seem to notice the commotion here yet

Toryn: " And they have reinforcements - probably a whole army here " Toryn continues softly , nodding his head in the direction of the 3 other guardsmen ...

Toryn: " Fighting town guards is beneath us - best to save our efforts for more worthy foes ... ghouls, evil cultists ... "

Aikira: for now I'll keep my peace toryn, for the sake off the group, but we must get inside that house, I want to know who is in there. aikira whispers to toryn

Toryn: " Surely it falls within your authority to inspect any home in this area in case an evil doer has invaded it ? " toryn asks the guard's leader .. " I implore you as a servant of Mithaniel Marr in a town devoted to the worship of the Marr Twins - please good sir, investigate this house ! "

Towns Guard 1: I said, don't move

Towns Guard 1 points his sword at Ro

Toryn: " I understand that Rinna Ligthshadow, priestess of Marr, lives here ? .. we have an appointment with her priestsesses tomorrow morning - you can check with them to confirm if you like "

Towns Guard 1: Hey (calls to the other guards) come here!

Ro stops with a deep sigh

Aikira makes a gesture towards ro that she must walk up to him and place herself behind him

Toryn: " And please forgive this one as well " toryn gestures at Ro " She really doesn't like the rain "

The other three guards walk up, drawing their weapons when they see the other three with theirs drawn. Quickly, guardsman 1 explains the situation.

Ro grabs her axe and throws it on the ground in front of her

Towns Guard 3: I'll go get one of the priestesses.

Towns Guard 1 nods

Toryn: " They haven't asked you to do that yet Ro " says Toryn gently, " It's all right "

Sunfall twiddles his thumbs

Aikira walks up to ro and picks up her axe and hands it to her

Towns Guard 1: Do that...to be accused of evil doing in one's home is a great crime. (to Toryn) While you are a paladin and have your holy powers, we need more conformation than just yours there is indeed evil residing in this abode.

Aikira: be brave little one

Aikira he whipsers to her when he looks into her eyes

Towns Guard 1 looks at Ro, scowling

Toryn: " Of course " Toryn agrees .... " Though I regret to say - no offense intended of course guardsman you're just doing your job - that the evil within this building might have fled while we were waiting outside - are you sure I cannot convince you to investigate this house while we wait ? "

Ro pulls back the hood of her cloak showing her face,' yoo waant to keell mee, keell mee. Noo waaiting i aam scaared yes, soo keell me noow or leet me goo'

Evil GM: another diplomacy check

Toryn: Toryn gives Ro a flabbergasted look

Toryn: " We found her held captive by the orcs and freed her ! " explains Toryn hastily

Sunfall: If there is another exit to this building I'm sure they have escaped long before now, if not, they are not going anywhere anytime soon

Toryn: " She is of half human, half orcish blood - perhaps they held her human heritage against her "

Towns Guard 1: Hmm...you there (points to one of the new guardsmen). Go around back and check that door.

Toryn: " We're taking her to Freeport to study with the bards there - the carnival master there " Toryn gestures at the carnival " Is himself a bard of great skill who has offered to take her under his wing "

Toryn: " No one's going to kill you " says Toryn reassuringly laying his hand on Ro's arm

Towns Guard 1: (to Toryn) I'm sorry, but laws are laws..the commander would have my head if I invaded the Tailor Mistress's home without varification from the priestesses

Toryn: " Oh yes I see ... forgive me I didn't know , laws differ from town to town of course "

Sunfall: is the mistress known for any ill intents, or to harbor dark elves?

Towns Guard 1 looks surprised at Sunfall's comment

Towns Guard 1: Why no! She's a law abiding citizen, a retired soul from the Knights of Truth herself!

Vincent (Rand): good god, when are you guys going to wake Rand in the inn ;)

Sunfall looks to Toryn and raises an eyebrow

Toryn: Toryn looks extremely surprised

From down the street, you can see a guardsman and a woman walking through the now mud of the street

Toryn: " Well it's possible she's being held captive ... perhaps the dark elf has invaded her house ... "

Towns Guard 2: Dark elves! That scum is not only not welcome here, we haven't had any sightings. There's no way they can just get into the city.

Sunfall: I think it odd given the circumstances, that there appears to be duality here. Two knights of truth, just to begin with..

Toryn: Toryn winces at the mention of the word " scum " and does his best not to look at Aikira

The priestess approaches your group.

Sunfall: The town guard here is quite ever vigilant

Sunfall nods

Toryn: Toryn sighs in relief " Well met fellow devotee of Marr ! I am Toryn of the Knights of Truth, paladin in service to Mithaniel Marr ! The divine sight mighty Marr has gifted us with tells me that darkness may reside within this house "

Aikira doesn't move an inch when the guard makes an insult about dark elves. but he would like to rip out his tongue and eat it while the guard looks at it. how does a human dare to say anything like that!

Toryn: " Then again it might have fled by now - I'm afraid we ran into a bit of a delay " says Toryn refuefully with a glance at the guardsmen ... " Not to blame them of course, they're just doing their jobs "

Ro stands next to Toryn hopelessly lost as the guards saw what she is but didn't kill her.

Priestess Bobanna: I am happy to offer any assistance I can.

Priestess Bobanna: I am Sister Bobanna, my other sisters couldn't make it as they are in the middle of their evening devotion

Vincent (Rand): Shees, Petra and her bobs

Toryn: " Would you feel comfortable giving us leave to search this house milady ? From what I understand there is a retired Knight of Truth in here - from what I understand there might be a servant of evil holding the Knight captive in here "

Toryn: " And we are grateful for your presence of course Sister, and greatly apologize for interupting your evening prayers "

Priestess Bobanna smiles at Toryn

Priestess Bobanna: Put your heart to rest for I can assure you the Mistress is not at the bid of an evil villian...she is in her evening devotions at the temple with my sisters. However, if you will give me a second....

Priestess Bobanna stares intently at the house, then seemingly appraises each of you.

Vincent (Rand): good god... i guess all Marr devotees are long winded in their talk ;)

Toryn (Toryn): lol , true :P

Priestess Bobanna: I can detect no evil, however....

Priestess Bobanna raises her brow at Toryn

Priestess Bobanna: you keep interesting company.

Priestess Bobanna pulls out a key ring full of dangling keys off her belt and chooses one which fits nicely into the front door.

Toryn: " Damn ! " curses toryn looking at the building, then apologizes " Forgive the cursing milady, it must have fled ... if by interesting company you refer to the half orcish girl - she was being held captive by her fellow orcs before we freed her - I'm sure they didn't take kindly to her human heritage "

Priestess Bobanna: Please, if it will settle your soul...enter and see for yourself. (she says this to Toryn)

Toryn: " I can assure you that I have used the divine sight to examine each of my companions in turn - none of them serve the forces of darkness I can assure you "

Priestess Bobanna laughs

Toryn: " Thank you milady you are most kind "

Priestess Bobanna: I was more refering to the ....nature of your companions than their breeding.

Sunfall: Every personality has it's purpose Priestess

Priestess Bobanna: I agree with you there, they don't serve the forces of darkness. (smiles)

Priestess Bobanna: Please (to Toryn) enter and be welcome. (gestures for Toryn to enter the house)

Aikira walks up to the door aswell

Toryn: " No hard feelings " says Toryn patting the leader of the guardsmen on the shoulder " We know you were just doing your job "

Priestess Bobanna puts her hand gently on Aikira's chest

Sunfall: Might I enter as well Priestess Bobanna, I have a gnack for identifying things that are not quite in order

Priestess Bobanna: Please, I ask that only your fair knight and a guardsman enters. This is someone's work place and home. I would protect it from being invaded, even by the best of intentions.

Towns Guard 1 enters the house, sword still drawn

Aikira looks at the hand of the priestess, and then at her. how he would like to break it, but he steps off while looking at toryn

Toryn: " I will investigate it thoroughly my friend " Toryn reassures Aikira intently with a hand on Aikira's arm " .... with a sigh Toryn enters as well ..

Towns Guard 1 nods her head to Aikira

Toryn (Toryn): Detect Evil again

Towns Guard 1: Thank you. I would protect your home just the same had you one here.

Evil GM: None that you can detect

Aikira ingores the guards remarke and stares intently at the house

Toryn: " Damn ! " says Toryn out loud again giving the whole place a frustrated look... Toryn clomps around room by room looking for anything out of the ordinary

The front part of the house is a typical tailor's workspace. There are bolts of cloth, needles, spools of fine thread, and adornments for clothing scattered here and there. In the living space of the house, it is rather bare and tidy. Every thing seems to have a place.

Evil GM: You notice an open window in the bedroom

Toryn: " Damn it ! " curses Toryn again and draws the town guard's attention to it " Our quarry could have escaped from there ! Why keep a window open when it's raining ? " ... Toryn intently examines the windowsill for footprint marks or the like

Evil GM: You see some scratches near the outside of the windowsill from where it was pried open

Toryn: " See that ? " says Toryn pointing out the scratches " Someone pried this window open - this Knight of Truth's home was invaded I tell you ! "

Toryn (Toryn): to the town guard

Towns Guard 1 nods gravely

Ro: "can i goo hoome" Ro whines outside the house

Towns Guard 1: I am going to go to the commander...I would ask that you and your group goes back to the Inn and we'll contact you there.

Toryn: " By all means - we should tell the priestess outside what happened as well " Toryn mentions

Toryn: " Let's head back outside and tell them what we have found "

Towns Guard 1 nods and walks back outside

Towns Guard 1 gives commands to the other guards and starts walking off

Toryn: " We both saw something " says Toryn gesturing to the town guard who accompanied him .. Toryn repeats everything he saw inside to everyone (including the priestess if she's still there )

Toryn: " The person who lives here - what is his or her name if I may be so bold as to ask " Toryn asks the priestess

Priestess Bobanna: I must go and tell the Mistress as well as my sister. It's ill news there's evil here.

Priestess Bobanna bows to Toryn and takes her leave, quickly walking back to the temple with a worried look on her face

Toryn: " The Mistress lives here ? Madam priestess if I could trouble you for the name of the person who resides here ! " Toryn calls out after her

Sunfall: They have gotten away.. I do wonder how it would have turned out if not for the vigilance of the town guards

Priestess Bobanna turns and calls over her shoulder, "Mistress Viola"

Sunfall groans and shrugs

Toryn: " The name Viola means something to you ? " Toryn asks questioningly turning towards Sunfall.. To Aikira laying a hand on his shoulder " I'm sorry for the interference of the guardsmen my friend - I know you wanted to question that dark elf "

Aikira nods at toryn and answers

The remaining towns guards form a guard around the buiilding

Aikira: if there was a dark elf, we must question him without the guards knowing, he might have valuable information and might not answer so easily to humans

Sunfall: Her name means nothing to me, but I'm sure I may be able to find out more about her among a crowd

Sunfall: Perhaps we should head to the inn and discuss further in private

Toryn: " True true " says Toryn looking at poor soggy Ro... Toryn grabs her axe from the ground and gives it back to her

Evil GM: Ok, so you guys go to the inn?

Vincent (Rand): YAY

Toryn (Toryn): yep unless anyone has any objections?

erus (Aikira): let's go

Vincent (Rand): Rand is sitting in the commond room with his head tilted backwards snoring so load that he chased everyone from the commons room

Evil GM: When you step into the Inn from the rain, the common room is quite crowded.

Evil GM: Rand asleep and snoring at one of the tables.

Vincent (Rand): damn, i wanted to chase everyone away with my snoring

Toryn: Toryn gently shakes Rand awake " You won't believe THIS my friend... come upstairs , much has happened that we should discuss - privately "

Sunfall walks among the crowd chatting up random people, attempting to gather information about Mistress Viola

Rand jumps up and swings around himself blindly

Sunfall: Gather Information [1d20+6 = 20]

Rand regains his heartrate and vision and jumps back from toryn in an attempt not to hit him

Toryn: Toryn laughs and backs up holding his hands out harmlessly, spread out " No ghouls or evil cultists here friend priest "

Rand: "I af foffy fofyf" Rand utters, producing some paper and a charcoal

Rand: "Where have you been" he scribbles on the paper

Toryn: " Good ! " exclaims Toryn looking at the paper " This will make it much easier to communicate - you wouldn't believe where we have been ! We should discuss it somewhere more private - let's go upstairs to our rooms "

Rand nods at Toryn

Rand leads Toryn up to the room he rented for the night

Toryn: Upstairs Toryn recaps everything that happened at the circus with a decidedly anti-Rook slant " He offered us 5000 platinum for her ! Like she was some sort of possession we could trade or give away !!! Can you believe that ?!? "

Rand shakes his head hearing the whole story

Toryn: Then Toryn goes on to recap what happened at the tailor's place

Rand: "So, now what" Rand scribbles

Toryn: " Ro wanted us all to stay with Rook - I told her she could stay with Rook if she liked but we wouldn't be able to - and Ro decided to stay with us instead " continues Toryn smiling and giving Ro a hug

Toryn: " I'd like to meet with my fellow worshippers of Marr - the preistesses - as we agreed earlier on then head on to Freeport " suggests Toryn

Rand chuckles at the glint of fear he saw in Toryn's eyes

Rand: "Let's get up early, we have spent too much time here already" Rand writes

Evil GM: Are all of you togeather in one room?

Sunfall leaves the crowd downstairs and joins the others

Toryn (Toryn): I think that's what you said last session since the inn is so crowded

Evil GM: Oh yea ;-) thanks

Knock, knock, knock on the door

erus (Aikira): who's there

Toryn: " That might be the town guard " says Toryn by way of explanation

Evil GM: nobody calls through the door

Toryn: Toryn opens it cautiously

There's a small boy, dressed in dirty clothing and looking kind of dirty himself standing shyly infront of the door

Toryn: Toryn smiles at the boy and kneels down " Yes can we help you ? "

The boy hands Toryn a pieceof parchment and runs down the hall and out of sight down the stairs

Toryn: Toryn tries to catch the boy before he leaves " Wait ! " .. if he's successfuly Toryn presses a gold piece into the boy's hands " for your troubles lad "

Evil GM: He's gone...he's extremly shy

Toryn: " Wait ! " Toryn calls out helplessly as the boy vanishes.. shrugging Toryn puts the gold piece back in his pouch and goes inside the room closing the door to look at the note " A small boyo delivered it " says Toryn in explanation

Toryn (Toryn): bleh ! " boy "

Toryn: " Ran off before I could ask him anything "

Toryn: Toryn examines the note more closely

Evil GM: For all pratical purposes to Toryn, it seems to be common written in complete and total Gibberish

Sunfall examines the note carefully when it comes to him

Toryn: " Well I don't know about a fan club " chuckles Toryn ... " I'm sure given enough time I could enlighten him to the joy that is Mithaniel Marr and add to our flock of converts "

Evil GM: Gee, that may be why neither has said or done anything in the last 10 minutes

Evil GM: Man.....I think this is the first time we've had this bad of stability issues

Sunfall lays the note down on a nearby table and places a key upon the outline of a key drawn on the note, they appear to match

Rand walks to Sunfall and tries to read the note

Rand looks at the note as puzzled as he can look with a dent in the face

Sunfall: It says we're in danger, and we should leave tonight. And your lovely friend Tala was kind enough to inform me that we should as the kid bids, or things might not turn out so pleasant

Bobby (Sunfall): er, do as the key bids

Rand looks at Sunfall surprised as Rand himself couldn't read the text

Rand looks at the note again

Toryn: " Tala eh ? Wonder why the ranger hasn't come to meet us herself ... "

Toryn: " Damn ! I'd much prefer to see if the priestesses can heal Rand's face but I'm inclined to take Tala seriously - she fought bravely among us against those evil cultists in Brighthaven "

Sunfall: You know her far better than I, but I have the feeling she is more than just a ranger

Toryn: " Well a ranger and a bounty hunter, the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive " says Toryn by way of explanation

Toryn: " Now let me guess " Toryn smiles at Rand " Your vote is to leave tonight for Freeport "

Sunfall: She's certainly well connected, in one case of being a ranger, and more so in her bounty hunting

Another knock on the door

Aikira draws his sword

Toryn: " We ARE popular tonight ! " comments Toryn " Who is it ? " more loudly

Sunfall: I feel like I'm considerably in over my head, I'd rather not linger where I'm not wanted. So yes, I think we should leave for Freeport

Rand loosens his mace just to be sure

Evil GM: er, second....I of course lost all my IDs when FG crashed

Evil GM Towns Guard 1

Towns Guard 1: The Towns Guard, I was sent to retrieve you and bring you to Commander Meldrid

Toryn: Toryn looks at everyone else " One moment my good sir ! " .. more quietly " Who wants to come along with me to see the Commander and who wants to stay behind at the inn ? "

Sunfall: Considering circumstances, we should all stick together

Rand nods at Sunfall and grabs his packs

Ro gets up and goes stand next to Toryn

Toryn: " Very well then - Aikira you're coming too ? "

Aikira: I'll join you

Sunfall: We should make this our last trip to the Inn before leaving town

Toryn: " True we'll settle up with the innkeeper before leaving " Toryn checks Ro and Aikira's hoods to make sure they're tightly drawn then says out loud " Sorry for the delays just making preparations " and opens the door

Rand scribbles "I already payed for the night" and shows Toryn

Towns Guard 1: Please, they're waiting and probably tearing down the building!

Aikira also sheathens his sword and pulls his cloak firmly over his head

Toryn: " What ??? Who's tearing down the building my good man ? " Toryn asks the town guard

Towns Guard 1: I'll explain on the way to the commander..

Towns Guard 1 starts walkling down the hall and out of the inn

Rand follows the guard

When you step outside of the inn, Aikira and Sunfall can hear screaming and shouting down the road

Aikira looks at the others

Aikira: did you hear that?

Evil GM: It sounds like a very lound arguement...not exactly a sword slinging fight

Sunfall: "There's a ruckus outside"

Toryn: " Let's investigate " declares Toryn ... but first ...

Toryn (Toryn): toryn closes to within 60 feet and detects evil on the people arguing

Evil GM: No evil is detected

Towns Guard 1 starts explaining before the group arrives at the arguement in the middle of the street

Toryn: " Apparently neither of these combatants serve the forces of darkness " Toryn explains to everyone

Towns Guard 1: Here about an hour ago, an armed escort from Freeport arrived with a warent for someone's arrest. It somehow involves you (gestures to the group) and the priestesses and Mistress Viola have gotten themselves involved as well.

Sunfall: It seems our friend's note came a little too late

Toryn: " This armed escort " says Toryn darkly " Do you know if they're with the Freeport Militia ? The Knights of Truth ? Or some other faction ? "

Towns Guard 1 glares darkly at nobody in particular

Towns Guard 1: The militia, of course. D'lere has been trying to get his paws on Nearfield for months now but nobody shows their support. However, in this the command probably won't be able to deny him since technically we are still "residents" of Freeport

Sunfall: Do you happen to know the description of the person under warrant sir?

Towns Guard 1 shakes his head no to Sunfall's question

Towns Guard 1: The commander wouldn't share with me.

Sunfall: Well this is an interesting situation for us to walk willingly into

The group keeps argueing, the priestess gesturing angrly at someone you can't see clearly

They haven't seemed to notice your approach

Toryn: " The warrant could be for me " says Toryn in an aside to the members of the group closest to me, angrily " I've already told you all about my history with my father " Toryn continues in a whisper

Rand stays back and tries to maintain unseen

Toryn: Toryn draws closer to get a better look

Sunfall: And they are coming from Freeport...

Toryn (Toryn): can Toryn make out who's fighting evil GM or does it require a spot roll ?

Evil GM: You can't really tell since half of the group is standing in shadows. You can make out two of the towns guardsmen, a big man whom seems to be giving orders to other towns guardsmen, the priestess, a woman that must be the town tailor, and eight bodies standing in the shadows, obscuring their faces from view

Sunfall: "This will be most interesting.. I don't see much choice but to continue on and see what is happening."

Toryn: " Well I'm going in there " declares Toryn " Not to sound arrogant but if there's any possibility I'm the cause of this problem I'm not going to let innocents suffer in my stead if Lucen's men turn to violence ... this isn't your fight though, if the rest of you wish you can move on to Freeport and I'll .... try to catch up with you, assuming I'm able "

Evil GM: So, what are you guys going to do?

Rand keeps following Toryn

Toryn: Toryn smiles and pats Rand on the back " I appreciate your loyalty friend"

Sunfall: I've taken a liking to you Toryn, so I'll see you through this best I can

Aikira stays close to ro to protect her, if she's attact or gets frightened

Toryn: " Me ? " says Toryn in surprise then chuckles " Well thank you Sunfall ! "

Sunfall: "but should things turn sour I can't gurantee you anything, i hope you know what you're doing, and moreso hope your wishes are in order"

Toryn: " Of course of course " says Toryn with another chuckle...

As you approach, a big burly man steps out of the shadows into the light. He's wearing full plate armor with a sword at his hip and a shield slung across his back. His helmet is up, revealing a scarred face

Toryn (Toryn): I assume from the miserably failed spot roll I have no idea who the man with the scar is ?

Evil GM: Nope, no idea

Evil GM: FYI...I'm going to cut this a half hour short tonight...have the first part of my exams tomorrow and want to get a good night of sleep

Bobby (Sunfall): no problem =)

erus (Aikira): no problemo, exams are too important, good luck btw

Toryn (Toryn): yep , no prob ;)

Evil GM: I'll just rub vince's head...should bring me all the luck I need ;-)

Evil GM: The man points to Toryn. "Toryn.....D'lere?"

Toryn: " That is I " declares Toryn stepping forward " And you are ? "

Bobby (Sunfall): your father has died and have inherited the kingdom!!

Toryn (Toryn): yeah, right :P

Lt. Blanc: Lt. Blanc of the Freeport Militia. I have been charged with an order to bring you to Freeport to see your father.

Aikira moves closer to the crowd so he can immediatly step in if the shiny dude would attack toryn

erus (Aikira): does ro come along with aikira?

Toryn: " And why " snaps Toryn " Should a Knight of the Order of Truth bother to obey the requests of the theives and ruffians who have stolen control of Freeport from it's rightful owners ?!?"

Lt. Blanc: You can either come freely and consider this an armed escort, or you can put up a resistance and I will carry out the warrent for you and your companions arrest by order of Sir Lucian D'lere

Toryn: " Have you heard ? " toryn announces loudly to the crowd in general " There was a time when Freeport ruled itself - ruled by the people for the people "

Toryn: " Then Sir Lucen came along and seized control of it, ruling with an iron fist "

Seven more men step out of the shadows and form a semi circle around Lt. Blanc

Toryn: " Theives , murderers and worse are in his employ - how much ' justice ' one receives in the town depends on how heavy your coin purse is "

Toryn: " Anyone who speaks out against Sir Lucen is put to death, myself included most likely "

Aikira steps up so he stands behind toryn and coughs so toryn can hear him

Sunfall mumbles something about preaching to the choir

Ro asks Rand softly what a coin purse is

Lt. Blanc: I am not here to argue politics with you knight. Will you and yours come freely and willingly or will you come under arrest by order of Sir D'

Lt. Blanc: Sir D'lere

erus (Aikira): sir D, the guy knows vinnie ;)

Toryn: " You can tell my father " Toryn loudly emphasizes the last two words " That his actions shame me personally, the Knights of Truth in general - the sacred brotherhood he betrayed - and all of Freeport in general ! "

Kenny (Ro): mr. Black i don't mean no disrespect... but there is only one vinnie

Petra (Commander Meldrid): LOL

Toryn: Toryn looks at everyone else and says regretfully " I'm willing to come with them peacefully - but they probably will fight , as they say they will, if we don't come voluntarily .. what say the rest of you ? "

Aikira: I'll stand my ground next to you brother

Ro grabs Toryn's hand firmly,' i coome wiith yoo"

Toryn: " Thank you brother " says Toryn warmly to Aikira " And you sister " Toryn hugs Ro

Commander Meldrid looks between Toryn and Lt. Blanc with a worried look

Rand loosens his mace

Sunfall: I was heading in the direction of Freeport anyways, I will do my best to see you safely arrived and safely kept

Commander Meldrid: Just to let you know, as much as I hate (pratically spits this out) to give way to the Militia, for the saftey of the town I can not afford to get in the middle of this except in offering assistance to these..these..people.

Toryn: " Thank you " says Toryn again with a slightly surprised look at Sunfall...

Toryn: To Meldrid " I know friend I know I wouldn't want to see the townspeople suffer either, that's the only reason I came forth to see these ones " Toryn glares at the militia as he says the last

Toryn: " So do we fight or come willingly ? " toryn asks the rest of the group again ...

Mistress Viola: You can not take a knight of the order into custody! He has done nothing afoul that you can name, even in that warrent, to be arrested. What crime does that tyrant claim of him?

Lt. Blanc: You, a fallen knight, should stay out of this and go back to your woman's work.

Aikira: you know me brother, I'm always up for a good fight, keeps the blood flowing in my veins and theirs in the streets

Ro: ze niem

Rand looks at Toryn angry... obviously in for a fight

Toryn: " ' a fallen knight ? ' Hardly .. O

Priestess Bobanna glares angrly at Lt. Blanc

Kenny (Ro): oops that ze niem was not for FG :P

Priestess Bobanna: There are the laws of men and the laws of the gods, sir, you would do not to invoke the wraith of the holy

Mistress Viola looks somewhat ashamed

Toryn: " I'm more likely to take her word over yours Blanc - watch what you say to my brethen ! "

Mistress Viola: (to toryn) it's true, I am, but it's still not right! He can't even name a crime.

Commander Meldrid: Please, you two, go home...

Lt. Blanc: Yes, go home..

Toryn: " And much as I appreciate your defense good ladies let's not give Lucen or his men too much credit - this band of scoundrels is unlikely to be swayed by anything holy or any arguments about proper and just laws "

Sunfall: And what happens when you are brought before your father Toryn?

Toryn: " No idea " says Toryn grimly " I'll certainly go down fighting if he threatens any of you, that's for certain "

Priestess Bobanna: Wait! It's nearing midnight. You wouldn't want to make a days jouney in the middle of the darkest hours would you? Let these good people have shelter in our temple tonight. I'm sure you'll keep them well guarded.

Toryn: Toryn waits, glaring at Lt. Blanc to see what his reaction will be to priestes bobanna

Priestess Bobanna: Everyone give me a spot roll

Sunfall: *looks to Viola* A lack of a title does not change your intentionss Mistress, just because one has fallen does not mean they cannot rise again. There are things to fight for yet

Rand tries to hide his surprise

Lt. Blanc throws his hands up in the air

Lt. Blanc: If I allow you shelter in the temple for the night, then will you all come freely, willingly, and without trouble to Freeport?

Toryn: Toryn looks to everyone else ... " Ro, Sunfall, Aikira, Rand... what do you think ?

Aikira whispers to toryn

Rand motions a fist smacked in his other hand

Aikira: I don't like him one bit, and I will not surrender my katana, because if they find out I'm a dark elf, I'll surely can use it

Sunfall: *mutters to Toryn* If we were all like one another I would have less fear of going willingly. But think of the nature of our company. I am not this will turn out poorly for one or two of them before it turns out poorly for you

Toryn: " Believe it or not my father has made alliances with both dark elves and orcs in the past " Toryn whispers back to Sunfall...

Toryn: " I don't like him either brother - what I'm asking though is if you'll go with him willingly after a night at the temple "

Ro: "leets fiirst sleep oover it iin teemple" Ro says to toryn and Aikira "beeen loong daay"

Rand motions a fist smacked in his other hand again

Aikira: but i'm no common dark elf aikira almost spits out the words (silently offcourse)

Toryn: " I know I know, sounds strange but it's true " Toryn reassures Sunfall

Toryn: " I know I know you want to fight " Toryn reassures Rand " But without you being able to heal us right now - I don't know if it would be a good idea my friend "

Aikira: maybe we can use a night to think it over, and the priest and myself can sharpen our weapons

Toryn: " You are far and beyond any other dark elf indeed " says Toryn giving Aikira a soft clap on the arm

Aikira blinks at rand

Toryn: " Fine " says Toryn making no attempt to mask his distaste as he speaks to Lt. Blanc " We'll come with you willingly tomorrow after a night at the temple "

Sunfall: An alliance is only made when it serves a purpose. If one can't serve a purpose, then they are easily discarded by those with power. I fear for our friend if we decide to keep the company of guards

Aikira: fear not for me sunfall, I've still got a wildcard up my sleeve, they will not so easily kill me, you'll see

Lt. Blanc gestures to his men

Lt. Blanc: Escort them to the temple.

Toryn: " They won't without killing the rest of us anyways " adds Toryn grimly looking at the militia

Sunfall: Wild cards have their uses, but there are only so chance upon within a deck

The two women set off before the militia men and your group, whispering to each other.

Aikira: my death will certainly also mean theirs, trust me on this one

Toryn: " I mean they'd have to kill us first before doing anything to Aikira - can't speak clearly, my anger blinds me " Toryn surpresses a growl aimed at the nearest miltia man's back

Ok, what you have is a wall around the temple. There is seemingly only one gate into it. Between the temple proper and the temple wall is some trees, shrubbery, flowers, ect

Rand walks to the head priestess at once when they arrive in the temple. He points at his face and pleads silently for help

The inside of the temple is fairly plain. In the middle is an alter covered with many candles and different offerings of fruits, grains, clothing, weapons, and anything else you can think of

Around the temple walls are several open cells, inside the cells are straw matts. Simple but clean and fresh. To the back is a closed door.

Toryn: Toryn nods politely to the priestess nearest to him " Lead the way milady - and thank you so much for your kind actions and words on our behalf "

Rand walks to the mistress at once when they arrive in the temple. He points at his face and pleads silently for help

Priestess Bobanna: It's our pleasure to host you this eve. I'm sure that if you were to pray to the valiant twins, they may answer your prayers. Now, before anything I should not be involved in is said or done....I shall take my leave until morning.

Priestess Bobanna heads through the door at the back of the room and shuts it.

Toryn: " Before you leave priestess - we would beg a favor of you but if you feel it would endanger you and yours we'll understand of course if you decline"

Priestess Bobanna pauses

Mistress Viola smiles sadly at Rand

Toryn: " should we end up having to fight our captors when we return to Freeport " Toryn glares outside

Mistress Viola: I am sorry, but I no longer have the powers of Mithanial or Erollsi Marr at my disposal.

Toryn: " allow me to introduce Rand, a priest of Druzzil ro - he was injured greviously fighting ghouls "

Mistress Viola: I am but a tailor, not a surgeon

Priestess Bobanna nods her head

Toryn: " Oh ! " says Toryn blinking in surprise " I see ... could you convey our request to one of the other priestesses perhaps ? "

Rand his shoulders hang when he realises the mistress is not capable of Marrs wonder anymore

Priestess Bobanna: Unfortunatly, we are not high priestesses as of yet. I am sure that you do not want to wait for the High Priestess to return, you, like I have no idea when they will all return from their quest over the sea...gods willing

Priestess Bobanna: However, this is a house of the Twins. A night of prayer can do wonderous things for the body as well as the soul.

Rand looks at Toryn, hoping Toryn can guide him in prayers

Toryn: " Understood - we are grateful for your help in granting us a reprieve for one night - the blessings of the Marr Twins be upon you "

Priestess Bobanna nods to Toryn

Mistress Viola: Now...

Aikira nods greatfull at the priestess

Mistress Viola eyes gleam with mischief

erus (Aikira): did anyone notice that?

Toryn: " Notice what ? " blinks Toryn

Petra (Mistress Viola): nope

Bobby (Sunfall): ebil!

Toryn (Toryn): okay retract Toryn's last comment then

Aikira walks over to the weapons on the shrine to see if ther's anything usefull

erus (Aikira): pete what weapons do they have?

Petra (Mistress Viola): common weapons

Aikira: no bows or anything?

Petra (Mistress Viola): daggers, swords, pretty common stuff

Petra (Mistress Viola): no

Vincent (Rand): any axes?

Toryn: Toryn hugs Ro " We won't let any harm come to you little sister I swear - though it would appear we'll be meeting your father - our father - sooner than I'd like " toryn adds grimly

Mistress Viola: There is a specific reason that the good sister and I wanted to bring you here.

Petra (Mistress Viola): swords and daggers ;-)

Toryn: " Yes ? " says Toryn politely looking at Viola

Mistress Viola: There is actually a way for you to escape from Nearfield, if you wish to do so.

Ro: /em nods

Kenny (Ro): hmmm... lol

Rand raises an eyebrow

Toryn: " Really ? " says Toryn looking quite interested ... then toryn looks concerned " I'm concerned though - what if the militia men harm any of the townspeople here - yourself or your friends - in a fit of rage ? "

Sunfall: That is in fact something we were planning to do before this commotion began *chuckles*

Mistress Viola: Unfortunally, the sisters can not aid you in this for it would be breaking the law and this they can't do...directly. However, I, being fallen, can.

Mistress Viola laughs

Mistress Viola: The leuitenant can become as enraged as he wants, but I doubt D'lere wishes to risk Nearfield just yet. We are the most abundant source for fresh food for Freeport and D'lere hasn't the strength to take us over, yet.

Sunfall: The joy of politics

Toryn: " True ! " exclaims Toryn, " shame on me, I've forgotten my politics - my father impressed those lessons on me over and over again " Toryn adds bitterly

Mistress Viola: The uncommon knowledge is we are ready to burn everything and leave the moment D'lere acts against us unfavoribly

Toryn: " I pray it never becomes necessary " says Toryn soberly looking at Viola ... " You would lose much "

Sunfall: Freeport needs you, but wants us, wants are not always needs, I'd prefer to have their want of us to go unfullfilled

Mistress Viola: I hope it doesn't come to this, but we're prepared to do what we must.

Mistress Viola: How badly....do you want to get to Freeport?

Toryn: " If you're certain no harm will come to you and yours " says Toryn slowly " then yes please, tell us more ... very badly " adds Toryn gesturing at Rand " Our friend is desperately in need of healing "

Sunfall: Not too badly, but I personally want out of Nearfield, we have found good company but even that is overshadowed by daggers and swords looming at us from the dark

Mistress Viola: Well, then think long and hard on what I have to offer...

Mistress Viola: This temple has in it's possession, a scroll of transportation. It is yours to aid you, if you so choose. However, there is a drawback to using this scroll.

Mistress Viola: Especially since you actually want to go to Freeport.'

Toryn: " What's the drawback ? " Toryn asks politely

Aikira: what is the drawback

Mistress Viola: You hit, give me damage

Petra (Mistress Viola): cat

Sunfall: Wherever it puts us has to be better than here... Can't it...?

Mistress Viola: This scroll is an evacuation scroll. We don't know where it will take you, but we can promise it's not here.

Rand scribbles "I wonder if we use it after leaving town with the guards"

Mistress Viola: You don't have to make the decision now becasue surely it is a hard one. Discuss it, sleep on it and let me know when we wake you in the morning.

Aikira: so for all we know, we could end up in the dungeons of freeport

Aikira asks the priestess

Toryn: " Thank you for this - drawback or no it is most generous of you milady " says Toryn gravely

Aikira asks the priestess another question

Aikira: why are you so keen on helping us?

Ro: "she waas kniight'

Mistress Viola: No, that I can promise it will not take you either. There are certain, how should I say this? Points? That druids and wizards tend to escape to. Since this was written by one or the other, it will go to one of those points and more surely than not...the farthest place you can possibly be from here.

Ro: 'aand faather Tooryn iis baad maan he say"

Mistress Viola: The lady is right..I was a knight. Just because I'm fallen doesn't mean I have given up the ways. I will spend the rest of my life on this earth atoning for my deeds.

Sunfall: I have never had the luxury of being part of a brotherhood, but I have read that they can grow bonds quite deep, even if they do not know each other

Toryn: " You don't seem that fallen to me " chuckles Toryn giving her a knightly clap on the back

Mistress Viola: Now, I will be off to bed myself...I will get you up at first light. Try to have a decision made, one way or another.

Evil GM: Ok, we'll go ahead and stop here for the night. I'm sure I'll have 100 emails in my inbox tomorrow with the decision of the decision of the decision
