After a long and trying journey across the Commonlands, the group finally reaches Nearfield.

Toryn (Toryn): actually I think we were already in Nearfield and the Steel Warriors led us to our inn to sleep for the night?

Evil GM: Nearfield is a farming community that lies about two days outside Freeport, and it is a major source of fresh farmed goods for Freeport. This is probably the only reason that it is in the control of the Steel Warriors and the Temple of Marr.

Evil GM: Technically we're starting at that point..your arrival. The stuff that you've done, you've done but there's some roleplaying to be had. ;-)

As you enter Nearfield, the town militia, which is made up of Steel Warriors and the townspeople, approach you and escort you to your inn for the night. It's not the best inn, for they explain that there is a carnival in town so all the spare room has been already taken up

Evil GM: The room that you are offered is one large room with two, straw stuffed beds, and 3 straw pallets to be rolled out on the floor

Ro starts to roll out a straw pallet right after she entered the room mumbling she is tired

Evil GM: Is anything going to do anything the first night in town??

Vincent (Rand): not me

Toryn (Toryn): Sunfall keep in mind toryn gave you some advice on Freeport as we were riding into town ;)

Toryn (Toryn): Toryn looks around " Is anyone here injured ? I can call upon the blessings of Mithaniel Marr to tend to your wounds before we bed down for the night ... "

Toryn (Toryn): damn, sorry that was an in character, not an out of character, comment

Bobby (Sunfall): I don't recall what that advice was

Ro beams a tired smile at Toryn before she sits down on the straw pallet

Aikira also rolls out a straw pallet and places his katana next to him on the floor and holds it with one hand as he lays down

Toryn: Toryn hugs her ... " Soon you shall see my home town little sister "

Ro shivers at the tought

Jezzabelah takes the third pallet and rolls it out

Toryn: " It will be all right " soothes Toryn " I won't let anyone harm you "

Rand grabs his bedroll and picks an empty spot and crawls in.

Kenny (Ro): Aikira we have our bedrolls next to eachother? :P

Jezzabelah: er...

erus (Aikira): I guess not :)

Toryn: Toryn looks at Rand " Your order of priests Rand - will we find them at the Academy of Arcane Science - the Wizard school - in the Market district ? Nod your head yes or no if you could please "

Ro whispers to Aikira,' Soory foor hitiing yoo' and turns her backto him quickly hoping noone else did hear her apology

Toryn (Toryn): evil GM is Vince here ?

Petra (Jezzabelah): yea

Bobby (Sunfall): that's a lot of information for poor Sunfall lol

Toryn: Toryn pokes Rand awake and repeats his question

Rand shakes his head and motions "1" and points at himself

Petra (Jezzabelah): sunfall, meet Toryn....by the end of this campaign you'll try to kill him off. ;-)

Toryn (Toryn): hey Sunfall no one is better at giving long drawn out speeches than paladins ;) - just try doing something morally questionable and see how much longer the speech gets :P

Bobby (Sunfall): sounds like fun =)

Aikira looks at ro with a little frown on his head, bit in surprise bit in pain. he opens his mouth a bit but the words don't seem to come out. then he closes his mouth and lies awake

Toryn: " You are the only one of your order ? Fascinating ! " exclaims Toryn ... " But it also means you have no other priests in Freeport to heal you then correct ? No worries comerade, I will appeal to my brethen in the Temple of Marr to heal your face "

Rand shakes his head at Toryns mistakes, but crawls in to sleep

Toryn: " We should all get some rest - no need to take turns staying up and keeping watch - I hope not anyways " ...

Ro lifts her head and says to Toryn,'Toryyn shaat aap iz late'

Sunfall drops onto a random pallet and falls easily to sleep

The night passes without any mishap...

Toryn: Torny grins ruefully " True, true - good night all the blessings of the Marr twins upon you " .. Toryn does the usual evening prayers and goes to bed

The night still passes without any mishaps....

Morning light starts streaming in through the window

Toryn: Toryn wakes, stretches, yawns, does the morning rituals of prayer to Mithaniel Marr and dons his armor

Evil GM: Yes, it's morning...the sunlight is streaming through the window

Ro wakes up slowly but looks deadtired as she runs to the potty

Rand snores

erus (Aikira): that's probably the first time anyone off us takes a piss or what not

Toryn: " Voiceless it cries, wingless it flutters, toothless it bites, mouthless it mutters" says Toryn out loud

erus (Aikira): don't we smell, we haven't showerd or washed ourselves for months now

Ro runs back into the room with eyes wide open,'Toryyn maany maany peeple outsiide!'

Petra (Evil GM): hey, I said this campaign contained no bodily type fluids....lol

Kenny (Ro): cool then i don't have to run for the potty :P

Petra (Evil GM): oh no..you're not getting out of that one

Toryn: " Hmmm " says Toryn warrily ... " We'll have to discuss my latest vision some other time ... if anyone else has had dreams about this sent to them by Mithaniel Marr let me know "

Jezzabelah sits up and rubs her eyes sleepily

Toryn: Toryn wakes Aikira if he's not already awake .. " Best to put your hood on my friend, to be on the safe side "

Ro grabs Toryn by his shoulders,' Toryyn i haave to peepee baad! But maany maany peeple outsiide"

Rand snorts while slowly waking up and stretching out

Sunfall must be sleeping pretty good

Aikira is allready awake, and looks at toryn while he's putting on his cloak

Evil GM: Everyone but Sunfall and Jezzabellah hear music playing somewhere outside the building

Aikira: not to worry toryn, I know better than to spread out my elvish features

Ro bends over a bit as she runs out the room again downstairs

Toryn: " Ah this must be the carnival the steel warriors mentioned to us " says Toryn confidently " Ro - wait where's she going ? "

Ro runs back into the room with arm in front of her tummy while bending over a bit,' Toryn i haave to goo peepee!' Ro whines at Toryn

Toryn: " It shames me to even mention it " says Toryn sorrowfully to Aikira " but there are many out there who would judge you without knowing you "

Toryn: " Go, go I'm sure the carnival workers won't harm us " Toryn assures her ... " I'll come with you "

Evil GM: The out house is outside in the inn's court yard, there's already a crowd outside waiting to go

Toryn: " If anything this is a stroke of luck " murmurs Toryn ... " We'll be more likely to fit in with fewer questions asked of us by the townfolk "

Ro grabs Toryn by the arm and starts to pull him downstairs pulling him along as she is almost running

Ro: 'Toryyn maany manny peeple!' Ro mutters

Aikira grunts a bit, strapping his katana to his back

Toryn: " We'll be fine " Toryn assures her ...

Ro shakes her head mumbling,' maany maany people Toryyn!'

Rand packs his belongings and slowly walks outside

Toryn: " I'm right here with you " soothes Toryn " I won't let anything happen "

Jezzabelah stretches and goes downstairs

Toryn: Toryn firmly escorts Ro to the bathroom and lets her in

Aikira places his hand on ro's shoulder and looks at her

Sunfall awakes at the commotion and rubs his eyes

Aikira: go little on, I have your back covered

Ro crawls upto Toryn walking to the out house looking at the ground

Evil GM: Are you going outside too Aikira?

erus (Aikira): I'm confused now, I thougth they were still inside :)

Toryn: " Want me to come in with you ? " says Toryn helpfully in his usual ignorant manner

Rand looks at the crowd, somewhat flinching away from it, he quickly sneaks out and goes away from the crowd, too awar of his mangled face

Ro leaves out a sigh of releave!

erus (Aikira): I'll guess aikira stays inside for now

Evil GM: Everyone that's outside of the inn, give me a listen roll

erus (Aikira): are sunny and me the only ones inside now?

Vincent (Rand): /em's ears ring with all the talk around him

Sunfall makes himself presentable then peers out the closest window to the crowd outside

Ro: "Torryn, maany maany peeple there?' Ro asks toryn from inside the outhouse

Toryn: " Yes but that's normal at a carnival " Toryn calls out to Ro " It's entertainment for the villagers here, great fun for them "

Sunfall takes his equipment and heads outside

Aikira stands alone in the room

Ro: 'Toryyn, i doont liike maany maany peeple' Ro explains

Rand sneaks away from the crowd, looking for a herb store in the more quiet part

Ro opens the door a bit but jams it shut again as she sees a lot of people outside

Aikira stands next to the window, looking outside, he hides himself a bit in the shades, he has never witnessed anything like this, so many humans acting funny, what could this be? have they just one a battle? why do they cheer so much?

Toryn: Toryn takes Ro's arm " You'll always have me by your side Ro - it'll be fine I won't let anything happen to you ... but now might be a good time indeed to seclude ourselves, look for the local priests " ...

Toryn: " Let's go back to the inn for a bit, we still have to pay for our room and board " Toryn tells Ro

erus (Aikira): brb real life potty time :)

Ro starts to whine about the amount of people, their hate towards orcs, how ugly she is before starting to breath heavely

Toryn: " My sister how many times must we have this argument - you are as beautiful as the morning dawn or the moon at night ! " insists toryn as he draws her back towards the inn " And as far as people not liking orcs - if anyone troubles you I shall deal with them !

Toryn: Once we reach the inn (assuming Toryn succeeds in dragging Ro along with him ;) ) Toryn looks for the innkeeper

Ro starts to hyperventilate thinking of all awefull things people will do to her for beeing an Orc

Toryn: " Shhh, shhh " soothes Toryn seeing how worried Ro is " I won't let anything happen to you sister - neither will Rand, you know that ! "

Toryn (Toryn): is the innkeeper in evil GM ?

Evil GM: Yes

Ro falls to her knees as she can't breath pulling at the neck of her shirt trying to breath

Evil GM: Yes, there is an innkeeper...she seems quite busy in the common room serving people their morning meals

Toryn: " Ro... Ro ! " says Toryn concernedly .. Toryn bodily picks her up in his arms and carries her inside the inn...

Ro keeps her eyes closed as she tries to breath

As Toryn walks into the inn with the unconcious Ro, people look or stare and whisper to each other

Toryn: Toryn does his best to ignore them as he carries his sister upstairs and puts her to bed, drawing a washcloth soaked with water over her forehead

Toryn (Toryn): unless someone stops Toryn first that is ;)

Petra (Evil GM): nope, nobody stops you

Aikira looks at the two enter the room

Aikira: what has happend to here?

Aikira: her

Toryn: Giving Ro one final concerned pat Toryn looks at Aikira, chuckling a bit as he says this given the history between Aikira and Ro ... " Watch over her will you ? ... I'm going to pay the innkeeper, see where the local priest is and get away from all these people - they're scaring her , she thinks they'll kill her because she's an orc ... "

Aikira: mmmm... I'll...watch over her

Aikira says softly

Toryn: " There is a hero here , a great warrior and priestess that I've heard of from her association with the Temple of Marr - Rinna Lightshadow - if we're lucky she'll be here - I'm going to ask the innkeeper just that .. "

Toryn: Toryn heads back downstairs unless someone has something to tell him before he goes ...

Aikira nods at toryn

Kenny (Ro): i'm passed out lol so not much into talking atm :P

erus (Aikira): what the heck would aikira and ro talk about :)

Toryn (Toryn): correction, what the heck would ro and aikira argue about - plenty ! ;)

erus (Aikira): lol

Downstairs the crowd seems to be thinning out a bit

Evil GM: Toryn, listen roll

Toryn: Toryn seeks out the innkeeper, pays her and says " I seek your local hero, Rinna Lightshadow "

Rand wanders around the outskirts of the town, not wanting to head towards the crowd

Ro starts to wake up slowly as her breath did calm down while she was unconscious

Ro: "maany maany peeple ootsiide" Ro explains Aikira in shame.

Innkeeper Sarah takes the payment with a smile

Innkeeper Sarah: I hope your stay was a pleasant one, lords be known this place is a mess right now with all these folks passing through

Aikira: I don't like that too, to many people, and to many humans aikira says to ro in an attempt to calm her down

Toryn: " No, no it was pleasant enough " Toryn assures her " We'll be out of your way soon innkeep - if you could just tell us where we could locate priestess Moonshadow ? I am Toryn of the Knights of Truth, from Freeport , a fellow worshipper of Marr - I seek her guidance on spiritual matters "

Ro: "yoo aand mee diveerent, me orc you eerrr *Ro gets a frown on her face as she thinks of what Aikira is* daark elf. No humaan! Maany maany peeple wiill kiill uus!"

Innkeeper Sarah: Oh! Yes, yes..the fair damsel. Well, she'd be away with the rest of the lot that went across the ocean to battle their dark foes. In her place she left four priestesses to tend the town. They might be at the temple, but dame Ironhoof is about to deliver so they might have gone to her already

Aikira: noone will kill us, you've got a big axe and a katana lead by my hand to keep us safe

Toryn: " Hmmm... any other priests or preistesses here we could consult with that you know of milady ? "

Ro tries to beam a smile at Aikira as her eyes are still wide open in fear

Aikira notices her fear and places his hand on her shoulder

Innkeeper Sarah: No, we're just tended by the priestesses right now.

Toryn: Toryn asks Sarah for directions to the temple and to dame Ironhoof ...

Aikira: calm down no little one, I'll let noone harm you, I'll give you my warrior word on that

Ro hangs her head down and says with closed eyes to Aikira,' i aam so scaared'

Toryn: " Also milady if you could give me directions to a place where one could buy traveling supplies, like cloaks - and someplace where I could buy some weapons, slings - I would appreciate it "

Aikira: don't give into your fear, fight it, you're no coward, you're a fighter, make me proud and stand up, even if it takes time, stand up to your fears. I'll guide you

Evil GM: The innkeep gives you directions to where Ironhoof is..which is about a day in the direction you came from. She also gives directions to a general supply store.

Petra (Evil GM): Geeze.....bad connection night

Toryn (Toryn): no prob ;)

Evil GM: Ok, as I was typing before you disconnected...Dame Ironhoof is about a day in the direction you already came from and the inkeep also gave information to the general store

Toryn (Toryn): and the temple ?

Evil GM: Yes, she also gives directions to that as well

Toryn: " Thank you innkeep - we'll be here less than an hour then we'll take our leave, you've been most gracious " with a knightly bow Toryn leaves her to her customers and heads back upstairs looking at Ro and Aikira in surprise .. " You two aren't fighting ? " Toryn chuckles

Ro raises her head and looks at Toryn

Toryn: Toryn sits down next to Ro and asks more concernedly " Are you all right ? You passed out "

Ro: "maany maany people haate orcs" Ro says softly,'i see maany maany peeple and orcs fiight and maany maany peeple kiill oorc'

Toryn: " I know Ro I know " says Toryn softly ...

erus (Aikira): is ro still talking to aikira or is ro inside the room too

erus (Aikira): toryn I mean

Ro: "i doon't waant to diee by maany maany peeple' ro says unhappy

Toryn: " Stay here with Aikira - I'm going to find a cloak for you to hide your face and the rest of you .. that should help make you feel safer ... And we'll see if we can find that damn priest too ! Wandering around injured unable to call on his healing magic, what does he think he's doing ?!? " exclaims Toryn with a mixture of worry and anger

Ro nods

Toryn: " And no one here will let you die sister, none of us "

Toryn: " I myself will die protecting you if need be "

Toryn: Ro gives Toryn another quick hug, nods his thanks at Aikira and leaves

Toryn (Toryn): bleh !

Toryn: Toryn gives Ro another quick hug I mean !

Toryn: First Toryn intently looks Ro over doing his best to memorize her measurements

Toryn: Then Toryn leaves for the general store " I"ll be back as soon as I can, going to get that cloak and a few slings " toryn explains to everyone else

Toryn (Toryn): sorry

Toryn (Toryn): ! ... Aikira from what I understood you stayed in the room with Ro to tend to her since she was unconscious, she woke up, you talked, Toryn came back in to talk to you guys and now Toryn's leaving

Toryn (Toryn): evil GM any mishaps on the way to the general store ?

Ro: 'Aakiraa taank yoo foor staaying heere'

Toryn (Toryn): cripes what is with these sucky mediocre rolls today !!! ?? !!!

Vincent (Rand): if the game crashes, that is me powercycling the house so Petra's PC reboots to get rid of bad rolls

Aikira: no problem little one, we'll stay in together, we're not welcome in a place like this

Toryn (Toryn): lol

Aikira says to ro, while looking through the window

Evil GM: Ok, you don't notice anything unusual

Ro lays on her back and starts to tell Aikira about orcs and the life she lived among them

Aikira listens to ro talking, he always was more off a listener than a talker

Toryn: Toryn hails the general store keeper (assuming he makes it there safely ;) ) and asks for a cloak and two slings and a healing kit if the storekeeper has one

Storekeep Bob Bob Bob hands over the items Toryn requested

Rand finds a nice tree on the outskirt of town and sits under it, softly praying to Druzzil

Toryn (Toryn): how much for the cloak evil GM ? That was the one thing we didn't get a price on ...

Petra (Storekeep Bob Bob Bob): I dunno, a few silver pieces. Unless you want it embroidered with something special or whatnot.

Toryn (Toryn): for one gold piece can Toryn get a fine quality cloak - one to make Ro look good ;) (of course it doesn't occur to Toryn it might also draw attention to Ro :P )

Petra (Storekeep Bob Bob Bob): sure

Toryn: So toryn grabs a cloak befitting an upper class merchant I guess then ;) ... Toryn bids the storekeeper good day and leaves quickly to return to the inn

Sunfall is lounging around the inn, watching Aikira and Ro

Bobby (Sunfall): Sunfall must have missed something, Ro and Aikira aren't trying to kill each other lol

The streets are getting even more crowded and there are several entertainers walking up and down the street..juggling and doing magic tricks

Ro beams a smile at Aikira while telling him stories that seem funny to her about her past orclife

Toryn: Unless something happens to Toryn on the way he walks back into the inn " Here take this sister " says Toryn soothingly hiding Ro's face in the cloak .. " See, no one will be able to see you now .. and here's a sling, you use it to throw rocks at the enemy - very simple looking I know but it can do a lot of damage - I'll teach you how to use it a bit later "

Toryn: " I have a sling and a fresh set of bandages for Rand too if we could just find him " adds toryn frustratedly looking about the room

Sunfall: This village is considerably more lively than I expected it to be, performers, jugglers..

Sunfall goes on to describe some of the more interesting characters he has observed including the appearance of one particular woman he bumped into

Toryn: " True - it'll actually work to our advantage hopefully, make us less noticable - let's go find the local priestesses, if we can track them down - they're fellow worshippers of Marr, I might be able to get some assistance from them that would benefit us "

Rand slowly starts walking towards the inn, avoiding busy streets and crowds as much as possible

Toryn: Toryn laughs " There'll be plenty of woman in Freeport for you to knock boots as well my friend " he tells Sunfall

Sunfall smirks

Toryn (Toryn): bleh ! "knock boots with " Toryn meant

Rand sneaks back into the inn, silently moving into the room

Sunfall: Well I prefer ones with a sense of humor, and this one had plenty. Not uncommon in half elves I suppose, but I'm not sure I am interested in long red hair.. too flashy for me.

Toryn: " Eh ? " says Toryn in sudden rememberance .. " She didn't say she was a ranger by any chance did she ? "

Sunfall: I didn't ask, she seemed equipped for adventuring to me

Rand: "Fala" Rand says

Sunfall: You dated her Rand?

Toryn: " Where in the name of gods were you ! " Toryn yells at Rand " We were worried sick ! You're wandering around town by yourself injured, unable to speak, unable to call on your healing magic ... ! "

Rand vigoriously shakes his head at Sunfall

Rand smacks Toryn over the head for yelling

Bobby (Sunfall): haha

Toryn: " All right all right point taken you don't answer to me " grumbles Toryn .. " Still next time let us know you're leaving first at least and where you're headed - as I mentioned we were worried "

Rand shows the fresh herbs he got and motions everyong to get going, it is getting late

Toryn: " Where did you see this red haired woman ? " Toryn asks Sunfall

Rand motions in the direction where he saw Tala

Sunfall: Just outside among the crowd

Sunfall: This was a few hours ago

Toryn: " You saw her too ? We might as well chat with her as long as we're here - if she's not there any more that's fine, we'll head to the local priestesses either way afterwards - unless anyone would like to do something else ? "

Rand nods

Rand shakes his head indicating she is gone

Toryn: " The red haired woman might be Tala, a ranger who fought by our side against the forces of evil - nice woman " Toryn explains to Sunfall

Sunfall: I wouldn't know where she is now, we had a few words and then she went on her way.

Toryn: " She's gone eh ? Ah well, probably off fighting the good fight then ... let's be off to the temple then unless anyone has any objections ? "

Ro: "mee goo out?" Ro asks toryn with big eyes

Petra (Evil GM): oh yes, she's off fighting the good fight, killing annoying paladins...

Toryn (Toryn): well the Toryn of THIS world doesn't know that yet :P

Petra (Evil GM): he's been spared

Sunfall: Nice, I'm not sure that's how I would have describe her. She seems capable of some mischief to me. Do you think we can trust her?

Toryn: Toryn pulls the cloak a bit tighter around Ro's face hiding her features " See? No one can see you " reassures Toryn . " A shame to hide that pretty face but if it makes you feel better - and much as I hate to say it , it will be necessary once we get to Freeport "

Toryn: " Let's talk on the way to the temple " suggests Toryn dragging Ro out the door

Ro shakes her head saying,'peeple wiill knoow wiith clook aall oover faace"

Sunfall nods

Evil GM: Ok, so you're all off to the temple??

Toryn: " Trust her ? Of course we can ! She fought bravely by our side in our battle against evil cultists kidnapping innocent peasants to torture and kill in their perverted rituals ! "

erus (Aikira): yup

Sunfall: I tag along, you four seem to knack for attracting trouble

Rand walks to Ro, puts a hand on her shoulder and says "fffff", then motions her to come with him

Toryn: Toryn does his best to guide Ro through the door " It's all right Ro, there are a lot of people who hide their faces for various reasons "

Aikira puts the cloack over his head

Ro stays extremely close to Toryn shuffling along in his footsteps looking at the ground

Toryn: " Neither Rand or I will let anything happen to you, you know that little sister ! "

Toryn: Toryn puts a reassuring arm around her as they head out of the inn

Evil GM: You're able to make your way to the temple without much trouble. It seems the crowds in the street have thinned some in favor of going to the square to await the promised show.

Toryn: " This bard must be something else, seems to be drawing a lot of attention " comments Toryn as they walk

Sunfall: Kidnapped peasants? A good deed indeed. Besides fighting, did she help you in other ways?

Toryn: " Snuck around, opened locks - says she picked it up from her days scouting enemy territory as a ranger "

Sunfall nudges Ro

Sunfall: Ro, think you would like to watch the show? I'm sure it'll be interesting

Toryn: "

Toryn: " That's not a bad idea " exclaims Toryn " Our Ro here is quite a good singer herself " Toryn smiles at her

Ro looks at the ground whispering,' noo'

After a short walk, you can see the temple coming up. It's a modest building, quite unlike the temple in Freeport. There is a wall around it with a gate that's standing open. Inside the gate you can see trees and green grass.

Sunfall shrugs

Toryn: " We'll talk about it later - but think about it little sister I think you'd enjoy it " says Toryn before approaching the gate...

Just inside the gate a small, hunchbacked man can be seen tending some bushes

Toryn: " Ho, preistesses ! " Toryn calls out in his most obvious, blatant, " look at me I'm a paladin with no tact or sense of subtlety " tone of voice " I am Toryn , paladin in service to Mithaniel Marr and member of the Knights of Order - greetings to my fellow worshippers of the Marr twins, praise be onto their names ! "

Sunfall: I doubt this Tala can beat my locksmithing skills.. But I'm sure she knows considerably more than I do, rangers know their terrain, and all that.

Toryn: " Oh ... you're not a priestess " Toryn asks in a more normal tone of voice looking at the hunchbacked man

The man looks up at Toryn, his face is grossly disfigured

Sunfall whispers this one looks worse off than poor Rand

Toryn: Toryn does his best to hide a look of pity ... " Do you know where we can find the priestesses who live here ? " he asks the man

Igor: Iggorrrrr nooos

Igor says, nodding his head yes

Toryn: " I see ... can you take them to us ... Igor ? "

Bobby (Sunfall): the Priestesses of Frankenstein?

Ro tries to take a peak from under her cloak pulling it back a bit so she can see who's talking like that

Igor: Noooooooo...priesssstessssseeeessss aaaawwwwaaaay tiiilll mmmmooorrrning

Sunfall: All priestesses Igor?

Toryn: " Damn ! " says Toryn ... Toryn looks at everyone else " Do you all think it's worth waiting another night at the inn to talk to them tomorrow morning ? They may be able to help Rand with his face if I'm persuasive enough - or do you all think we should just leave for Freeport ? "

Igor: Yeeeessssss...thheey gooooo too mmmaaakkkeee bbbaaabby

Aikira: let rand decide on that one

Sunfall: Well that sounds significantly more important than fixing Rand's face to me

Sunfall grins

Toryn: Toryn pulls out the stick he's been carrying with him and gives it to Rand gesturing at the dirt on the ground

Rand motions to go to freeport

Vincent (Rand): after some serious thought

Sunfall: I'm ashamed of you Toryn, where's your Etiquette!? Interrupting the midwives

Toryn: " All right .. one vote to go to Freeport without waiting for the priests "

Rand nods

Toryn: " I would never interrupt a priestess of Marr in her sacred duties ! " protests Toryn

Toryn: " I meant waiting until they got back here, after the delivery "

Toryn: " They worship Ellossi Marr, goddess of love - delivering babies is something sacred to them, this much I know "

Sunfall: So we should postpone for tommorow? I'm afraid Rand is in no position to make decisions for himself

Rand flips Sunfall off

Toryn: Toryn winces remembering Rand getting angry and jumping hard enough on Aikira's chest to knock him down a while ago " I wouldn't antagonize the priest Sunfall, he's stronger than he looks "

Toryn: " So one vote to stay until tomorrow " says Toryn nodding at Sunfall

Toryn: " Aikira what say you - ride on to Freeport or wait here another night ? "

Aikira: there will be even more humans in freeport then over here, so I don't mind to stay another night

Toryn: "

Toryn: " Two votes to stay another night - little sister do you want to stay here for one more night or do you think we should move on to Freeport ? " Toryn asks Ro

Ro moans from under her cloak at hearing Aikira's words and mutters,' yezz yezz noo waant maany maany peeple'

Evil GM: everyone except Ro hears applause from a big crowd back towards the town square

Toryn: " Ro sorry I didn't understand " says Toryn confusedly " do you want to stay here another night ? "

Aikira: yes toryn, she says there are too many people in freeport

Ro nods

Rand sighs... and motions that we all can stay as well now

Toryn: " Oh ! All right then 3 votes to stay here one more night, one vote against - sorry Rand I'm going to have to vote for staying here too - if there's even a chance we can get your face fixed before a potentially dangerous journey I'm for it - not to mention we're all concerned about you of course, we want you healed for personal reasons as well - we miss hearing you talk " Toryn chuckles

Toryn: " Perhaps we should go see what all the applause is about over there? " suggests toryn gesturing towards the crowd

Aikira takes ro by the arm and whispers to her

Toryn: " We won't let anyone harm you ro, we promise " Toryn assures her putting an arm around her ...

Aikira: we can keep some distance from the crowd if you like that

Toryn (Toryn): after Aikira finishes talking to her ;)

Petra (Evil GM): wonder what kind of babies a half orc and dark elf would make.....

Sunfall: Hopefully the show isn't over, while your four can be pleasantly amusing from time to time, it's just not the same

Sunfall winks and goes on his way towards the crowd

Rand sighs again and starts walking to the inn again, intending to watch the show from the inn

Ro gently puts an arm around Aikira giving him half a hug,'thaank you, frieend'

Evil GM: Ok, so everyone but rand goes to the square?

Vincent (Rand): yep

Aikira is a bit uneasy with the hug and simply pets ro on the back

The sun is just starting to set as you arrive at the make-shift stage in the center of the town square. Already the square is crowded with townspeople, merchants, travellers, caravan handlers, Steel Warriors, folks from Freeport, and folks that are obviously from the carnival. Brightly clothed jugglers and tumblers keep the crowd entertained until a ruggidly handsome man, dressed in plain, travel worn leathers climbs onto the stage. The crowd falls silent in anticipation.

erus (Aikira): aikira and ro will keep distance, more than enough distance!!!!

Toryn: Toryn looks a bit surprised then smiles broadly " Marr smiles upon us - it's a miracle you two are getting along - I am pleased ! "

Rand arrives at the inn and walks to the innkeeper, motioning for smoething to eat

In a deep and smooth voice the bard bows to the crowd, eliciting applause. "Tonight, for your pleasure, I tell you a tale my grandfather told me as a boy about a fearsome creature called the Jabberwock. As the tradition dictates, he told me what his grandfather passed to him and now, I pass it onto you!"

Aikira: ro you want to stay here, or do you want to join rand at the inn

Evil GM: This is the bard that walks up on the stage

erus (Aikira): he kicks ass with that banjo

Ro: 'liisten to him'

Kenny (Ro): thats a lute u uncultivated barbarian

As the bard starts to talk, the sky seemingly darkens as if it were going to rain and thunder claps in the distance. An organ starts to play. "Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe."

Lighting flashes behind the bard, striking the ground behind him and spewing colored sparks into the crowd. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!"

erus (Aikira): excuse me mozart

Sunfall: Spellcraft [1d20+10 = 23]

"Beware the jubjub bird," A strange image of a bird appears above the crowd's head in silver sparks and they ooooh and awww. "And shun the Frumious Bandersnatch!" Then an image of a Bandersnatch appear above the crowd to hover next to the Jubjub bird, and both then slowly fade.

Kenny (Ro): lol

Evil GM: The jubjub bird and bandersnatch that you see above the crowd

"He took his vorpal sword in hand," A shining sword appears in the bard's right hand. "Long time the manxome foe he sought--So rested he by the Tumtum tree, and stood awhile in thought."

Ro pulls her cloak back a bit to see more

"And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame," A woman in the crowd screams and whispering starts springing up from the crowd as a small, reddish, dragon like creature with red eyes appears at the edge of the crowd and waddles towards the stage. "Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, and burbled as it came!"

Evil GM: And that....is the jabberwock

Evil GM: It appears much smaller though

Toryn: Toryn eyes the creature warily " I hope that's part of the show "

"One, two! One, two! and trough and through the vorpal blade went snicker-snack!" With a mighty swing of the sword the bard beheaded the creature and bent to pick up it's head. "He left it dead, and with its head he went galumphing back." The dragon's body dissapaits in smoke.

Ro starts to shuffle uneasy and whispers to Toryn,' hee looks at mee, hee looks at mee!'

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! He chortled in his joy!" The sword and head slowly fade from sight. "Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe..." Smoke starts to ooze out from beneath the stage and encompass the bard. His voice gets slightly quieter, "All mimsy were the borogoves, and the momeraths outgrabe........." When the smoke dissapaits, the bard is gone.

Toryn: " Who did ? " asks Toryn concernedly doing his best to whisper (it's not very subtle thus Toryn has a hard time with it :P )

The crowd bursts into a wild applause and whistles, throwing coins onto the stage in which a small creature hops onto the stage and starts collecting the coins into a box. The jugglers and tumblers come out again and one of them proclaims, "Come one and come all to the Carnival of the Rook! Only a copper to see the bearded lady. Only a silver to see the Jabberwock in person! Come, see the delights that the Rook has to offer!"

Ro: 'thaat maan taalking!'

After the show, the crowd starts leaving to go see other parts of the carnival

Bobby (Sunfall): is that nonsense he spoke a language or just slang?

Toryn: Toryn looks at the spot where the man vanished with a frown but does his best to reassure Ro hugging her tightly " It's all right Ro we don't know if he could even see past your cloak - and we won't let anything happen to you, regardless ... look see even Aikira's your friend now " Toryn smiles and gives Aikira a friendly clap on the back

Evil GM: Give me an intelligence roll to find out ;-)

Ro keeps watching at the stage not moving an inch

Sunfall tosses a gold coin onto the stage and claps

Aikira still is looking at the stage, he doesn't really trust all this hokuspokus stuff

The little creature scurries over and picks it up, throwing it into the box

Toryn (Toryn): and if you make that Intelligence roll Sunfall you might be able to find out more than what the rest of us know ;)

Toryn (Toryn): don't suppose he'd get spellcraft on that too evil GM?

Evil GM: ;-) maybe

Aikira can I make an intelligance roll too?

Evil GM: Sure

Evil GM: absolute jibberish to you two

Toryn (Toryn): and if spellcraft is involved, assuming Rand was keeping an eye on the show does he get one too ?

Toryn (Toryn): Sunfall is firmly convinced the jabberwocky is out to get him :P

Bobby (Sunfall): Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Evil GM: Those jabberwocks are sneaky you know

Toryn (Toryn): a roll that is, as far as Rand ...

Petra (Evil GM): rand isn't there

Toryn (Toryn): oh, I thought he was watching the show from the inn - unless it's too far away , guess it is ...

Toryn (Toryn): going to take a long shot - has Toryn heard ANY religious reference of any sort to a jabberwocky or anything else mentioned ?

Vincent (Rand): Rand couldn't see the show but is eating in the inn

Evil GM: Everyone but Rand make a spot roll

Toryn (Toryn): " nope, nothing here " says Aikira before the griffon flies off with him squawking " dinner ! dark meat ! "

Sunfall turns around and starts clapping again and nodding

Rook coughs from behind the group

Toryn: Toryn looks confusedly in the direction Sunfall is clapping in

Rook: I hope I'm not interrupting anything here?

Toryn: " Greetings bard - that was quite a performance " says Toryn suspiciously standing close to Ro

Rook: Ro is standing infront of the stage, entranced with the creature that's been gathering coins

Toryn: " Good eye " Toryn adds in a stage whisper nodding at Sunfall " The rest of us missed him "

Petra (Rook): that's suposed to be in bold black type...

Sunfall: Not interrupting at all, that was quite a production

Rook bows in a grand flourish

Rook: I aim to please the crowd.

Sunfall: A true story is it? Was there really a jabberwock?

Toryn: " Were you aiming to please one of us in particular ? My sister says you were looking at her " adds Toryn, still suspicious, with his usual complete lack of tact ...

Bobby (Sunfall): haha

Rook flashes Toryn a smile

Rook: Well, I do aim to please crowds however, your sister? She caught my eye.

Sunfall: Am I to assume you're about to present a dowry?

Toryn: " Any particular reason why ? " asks Toryn still staring at Rook

Sunfall grins

Rook laughs

Rook: Oh, no, no, no...nothing like that.

Ro sneaks up behind Toryn and pulls his sleeve while whispering pityfully in his ear,'hee waant to kiill mee?'

Rook: Please, if you would like to come to my office I might have a buisness proposition you could be interested in.

Toryn: " I'm certain he won't " Toryn says warily looking at Rook " And we'd all protect you no matter what "

Toryn: Toryn looks around " Anyone else interested in hearing what he has to say ... Aikira, Rand, Ro , Sunfall ? "

Ro tries to hide beneath her cloak and doesn't answer

Vincent (Rand): i am not threre

Toryn (Toryn): doh ! negative xp for the paladin !

Toryn: " Aikira, Ro, Sunfall ? " asks Toryn

Rook waits politely for their decision

Sunfall: Of course we'll listen to your proposition, as to whether or not we will be of any use is another matter, but we'll hear it

Aikira aikira stands behind ro, and looks with an angered look at rook, because of what ro said

Aikira: I'll come to

Aikira whispers to ro

Rook: Excellent! If you'll follow me...

Aikira: stay close to me, I'll kill him the moment, he does something wrong or threathens you

Rook starts walking off towards a bunch of brightly colored tents on the edge of town and leads you into a particularly goddly trapped tent.

Ro walks close to Aikira holding the sleeve of his cloak

Toryn: Toryn follows, still looking suspicious, staying close to Ro (like Aikira I'm guessing ;) )

Rand walks to the fireplace of the inn to boil a few potions. He starts with a paindulling potion

Aikira whispers to toryn

Rook: Please be welcome into my office and humble abode

Aikira: I don't trust him

Toryn: " Neither do I - he didn't answer my question about why he's so interested in ro " agrees Toryn in a whisper, eyeing rook

Aikira nods

Sunfall decides to stand leaning against a nearby wall, observing Rook

Aikira: I'll stay close to her in that room, ready to attack if needed

Aikira whispers to toryn

Sunfall leans on a... nearby pole o.o

Aikira stands near the exit, and places himself a bit in front of ro

Toryn: " Well we'll see what happens " whispers Toryn ... " This one would probably be more likely to play some sort of a trick than attack us outright - but yes being on our guard sounds like a good idea "

Toryn: Out loud Toryn says " Let's hear it then Rook "

Inside the tent there's a small cot in the corner piles with lavish pillows and furs. The ground is covered with bright tapestries depicting strange creatures. There is a desk in the center of the room and plush stuffed chairs sitting infront of it. Rook sits behind the desk and gestures the group to take a seat

Toryn: Toryn looks at Ro to see if she takes a seat

Rand after breweing the paindulling potion (and using it) Rand continues to make some energy giving potion, called coffee named after the plant if comes from.

Rook: Now, I'm sure you're all curious as to why I'm intrested in this fine creature.. (gestures to Ro)

Sunfall takes a seat and appears to listen with interest

Aikira doesn't take a seat

Ro sits down close to Aikira and Toryn

Sunfall nods

Aikira places himself behind ro and toryn

Ro visually shrinks at the attention

Rook: Have you been able to visit the main tent yet?

Toryn: Toryn sits next to Ro

Sunfall: Afraid I haven't

Toryn: " No, any particular reason why we should ? " asks Toryn point blank

Rook: That's a shame, you must take a peek with my compliments afterwards..regardless of the outcome of this transaction.

Ro pushes back the hood of her cloak as he obviously knows what she is

Rook: Anyways, I deal in the strange, the unusual, the exotic, the mystical...and I noticed during my performance that your, sister, is of a quite unusual breed....for a bard.

Toryn: Toryn looks startled then claps his head " A bard - of course I should have guessed ! "

Sunfall: You've seen her perform then?

Rook grins at Sunfall

Toryn: " That's how you can perform your magic - you sing every time you do it " Toryn explains to Ro ... " We call people who can do that bards "

Rook: I have no need...she has the aura that bards generally have about them. For some reason, it's usually quite more colorful than normal folks.

Sunfall nods

Sunfall: Are you looking to employ our fair lady?

Toryn: Toryn warms up a bit " Well you have our thanks for pointing out something we didn't know before Rook ... though in hindsight it seems rather obvious, we should have been able to figure it out for ourselves "

Rook: That I am! She is quite unusual and exotic. An orcish bard! Who would have thought? In concert with me I'm sure we can draw even bigger crowds....

Ro pulls open the widest eyes she can

Rook leans forward on the desk, steepling his hands and resting his chin on his fingers

Ro with a squeeky voice Ro ask Rook,'mee?'

Toryn: " That's why he was so interested in you " Toryn says reassuringly to Ro " He wants you to join his act "

Rook: How much would you be willing to take to let this fair lady part ways with you and come into my employment?

Toryn: Toryn immediately drops whatever warm manner he had towards Rook

Sunfall: You are asking for a lump sum?

Toryn: " My sister is NOT for sale ! " roars Toryn at the top of his lungs

Sunfall: Toryn

Toryn: " She is her own person and can make decisions for herself ! "

Sunfall: Settle your rage, it is not becoming of you

Rook: No, no, no...don't mistake me. Think of it, as a dowery of sorts. I will give you a pile of gold and in return take your sister under my wing. She would of course earn weekly wages, in which we can come to terms with now if you like.

Aikira looks to be readiing himself when he sees toryn acting like that, but he keeps it togehter and places he hand on toryns shoulder to calm him down

Toryn: " Any ' pile of gold ' as you put it would go to her , not us " snaps Toryn , nodding his thanks at Aikira

Ro looks at Toryn desperatly

Bobby (Sunfall): sense motive on a bard. haha

Toryn: " Ro it's up to you - but keep in mind one, we have no idea who this .. person .. is " Toryn glares at Rook .. " And two, he seems to think of you as a possession, not a person "

Rook shrugs

Rook: What you do with the money once it leaves my hands is none of my concern.

Toryn: " Normally it would be a generous offer , it's the manner in which you phrased it that's offensive " Toryn snarls at Rook " You should have offered it directly to Ro instead

Aikira bends over to ro and keeps looking at rook and whispers

Ro grabs Toryns hand and squeezes it tightly

Rook spreads his hands out

Aikira: this seems like a bad idea little one, he isn't a good man, I can tell

Rook: I know how valuable a bard is to a group of adventurers, such as yourselves. I would try to make arrangements for your loss as well as for the employment of the lady.

Ro: 'Toryyn, whaat he waants? hee waants too kiil mee when yoo leaave?

Aikira: how do you know this?

Aikira asks ro

Toryn: " No no - I'm sorry sister, I didn't explain " says Toryn, visibly fighting to get his temper under control

Rook sits back in his chair

Toryn: " He wanted to give us a lot of money so we would sell you to him - of course we have no intention of doing so " Toryn tells Ro

Toryn: " He also wants to train you as a bard - to help you learn more about the songs you sing and the magic that you can do with it "

erus (Aikira): kenny antwoord eens beun

Rook: I'm willing to offer one thousand platinum pieces for her employment

Toryn: " And he says he will pay you money while he trains you "

Kenny (Ro): op wat?

Sunfall: nodding to Rook "I suppose you have other such colorful 'creatures' in your employ in the main tent?"

Kenny (Ro): ik vroeg toch ook maar dat die mij wou vermoorden lol

erus (Aikira): when aikira asks why ro thinks he would kill her

Toryn: " Remember how I used money to buy you dresses and food and so forth ? That's what he means he would give you money of your own " Toryn continues to explain to Ro

Rook: Absolutely! I have all sorts of fantasitic creatures. Most of them came to be in my employment for protection for the odd and unusual has a hard lot in this world.

Ro shows a big grin at the thought of dresses

Toryn: " I don't trust him " toryn adds firmly finishing his little translation for ro

Ro 's face gets all serious and frightened again

Toryn: " You can also get money of your own going on adventures with us Ro - you already have some money I'm holding for you until we can teach you more about how to spend it ... "

Rook looks directly at Ro

Sunfall: looking to Toryn and Ro "Perhaps we could investigate the main tent and see these performers. I'm sure my friends would be happy to give you their decision after a night of rest. We will be in town awhile."

Toryn: " And I'd like to think you can trust us at least ro - this one we know nothing about " Toryn adds glaring at Rook

Toryn: " but again the final decision is up to you little sister "

Ro: "whaat caan he teech mee?"

Rook: How would you like to learn to be a real bard? To entertain and captivate the crowd instead of singing the few songs that happen to come into your head at any given time?

Toryn: Toryn sighs and admits reluctantly " We've seen from his performance alone that he's probably capable of great magic Ro - there's probably a lot he could teach you "

Toryn: " And he's offering you a lot of money - assuming that he's telling the truth that is

Ro: "maany maany peeple not goood" Ro says as she shakes her head," theey waant to kiill mee"

Rook stands up and starts to sing

Toryn: " Apparently you'd be with a lot of people who are also different, he says you'd all protect each other, but Aikira and I can also protect you ... Ro what are you doing ? "

Rook changes from a man and into a bird with flaming red feathers and soon bursts into flames and falls to ashes on the groun

Toryn: " What in the name of Marr ?!? " exclaims toryn drawing his sword

From the ground, an unicorn appears out of the ashes, with shining white fur and a gleaming golden horn

Toryn: " I have no idea if that's a real unicorn or more of Rook's trickery " declares Toryn flatly staring at the unicorn

Sunfall: It's merely an illusion Toryn

Ro is sitting there totally not impressed,' thaat is uuseleess too huunt or fiight'

Sunfall: Impressive none the less

The unicorn morphs into a great red dragon that seemingly fills the tent, then into a snake slithering on the floor, then back into Rook

Toryn: " I should have done this a long time ago " .... Toryn's face goes blank for a moment as he calls upon the divine sight Mithaniel Marr has blessed him with

Toryn (Toryn): detect evil on Rook

Ro falls over to the back with her chair as the dragons pops

Rook: No evil detected

Toryn: " Hmmmphhh ! Well Mithaniel Marr tells me he doesn't outright serve the forces of darkness " says Toryn reluctantly

Rook: Apologies my fair damsel (walks over to Ro and offers his hand)

Rook: I meant not to scare you as much as impress you

Ro jumps out of herself and wipes off her cloak

Sunfall: I don't doubt you could teach our fair lady great things. However I don't think this is something they can agree to right here, right now. Toryn, would you believe it better off if your sister had more time to think on this?

Rook bows to the group

Toryn: " It's her decision in the end and she can take as much time as she wants - unless there's some sort of "expiration date " on the offer rook " Toryn comments looking at Rook

Rook: Of course, of course...take your time. We will be here for another day then we will be moving on to Brighthaven

Toryn: Toryn remembers his sword is still out and sheathes it

Ro walks over to Toryn to go stand really close to him

Toryn: " You mentioned another tent we should go look at ? " Toryn asks Rook reluctantly

Aikira also sheathes his sword

Vincent (Rand): what time is it ?

Toryn: Toryn is hard pressed to surpress a chuckle as he looks at Aikira ... " It would appear that warriors think alike, I didn't even see you draw it "

erus (Aikira): ten o clock ;)

Ro whispers to Toryn pitifully,' Toryyn ii doon't waant to bee his slaave'

Aikira: when cannot be carefull enough in places like this my brother

Toryn: " Well we'll talk about it sister - but of course if your answer is no, then it's no, you don't have to accept Rook's offer by any means " toryn reassures Ro...

Toryn: " Let's see this tent then Rook " declares Toryn

Aikira: put your cloak back over your head little one

Aikira tells ro

Ro puts her cloak back over her head after showing a smile at Aikira

Rook: Until the morrow then...I hope I have the pleasure of attending you again.

Rook walks over to the door and pulls the curtain aside

Toryn: " Fine - where's this tent you want us to look at Rook ? "

Sunfall rises from his seat and bows to the bard

Aikira steps outside, while keeping an eye on rook

Toryn (Toryn): evil GM does Rook point us in the direction of the tent he mentioned ?

Bobby (Sunfall): well it is the 'main tent'

Bobby (Sunfall): it should be the biggest

Petra (Rook): it's a huge tent surrounded by smaller tents

Toryn: Toryn steps outside with everyone else after giving Rook one final wary glance...

Evil GM: Ok, what are you guys going to do? it's about 5pm

Toryn: " ' I'll give you 5000 platinum pieces for her ' " Toryn snarls when he's outside, imitating Rook " I should have whacked him over the head with the flat of my blade "

Toryn: " Anyone else want to see this big tent he's talking about ? Sunfall I'm going to assume you do ... Ro, Aikira ? "

Ro: "thaat foood?' Ro asks curiously

Aikira: sure, why not aikira replies

Toryn: " Normally I'd be happy to buy you all the food you want here sister but if we don't trust Rook we probably shouldn't trust his food either - if he wants you badly enough he could drug you for all we know " advises Toryn

Toryn: " Ro do you want to go see what's inside this big tent he was talking about ? "

Sunfall: I'll accompany you to this main tent, it sounds quite interesting indeed

Ro: "nooo, faivetoosand plaatiinuum iis foood?'

Sunfall points to the main tent and begins heading towards it

Evil GM: The main tent is huge and multi colored. Outside there's a small band playing carnival music and a man doing the "Come one, come all" routine.

Toryn: " No " explains Toryn taking ro's arm and guiding her towards the tent " Five thousand platinum would give you a lot of coins " Toryn produces one by way of example showing it to Ro " You give people this and then they give you food .. or dresses.. or axes, or whatever else you want to buy ... "

Aikira waits so he and toryn can keep a close eye on ro, when they have to walk among the humans

Ro: "hee waant to buuy mee aand noot foor food or weapoons? I doon't understaand"

Toryn: " He's offering to give you many, many coins if you stay with him Ro --- what bothers me is that he offered us the coins first instead of just saying he would give them to you "

Toryn: " He seems to think you're like.. well like one of our swords, or horses.. this Rook person seems to think we can just give you away to him if he gives us enough money "

Toryn: " I told him that this is not true, then he offered to give the money to you "

Toryn: " but he has no respect for you Ro .. you're not a horse, you're not a sword ... you're a person , just like us "

Toryn: " does that make sense Ro ? "

Ro: "i doon't need mooneey, i goot youu' Ro says to Toryn happely

Toryn: Toryn smiles at Ro's innocence

Sunfall: I didn't get the sense that Rook is anything but genuine... However 5,000 platinum is a sum enough for most performers to retire on. I am interested to see how he treats his performers

Toryn: " And as far as the treatment of performers - he's already demonstrated he can put on a good show - he could stage anything he wanted just to convince us "

Aikira walks up behind toryn and ro

Toryn: " Rook mentioned we could enter free of charge " says Toryn looking at the performer

Sunfall tosses the perfomer a gold

A performer looks across to Rook's tent and sees Rook nod. He tosses the gold back to Sunfall and bows

Toryn: " Go ask him yourself if you don't believe us - Sunfall don't waste your gold by lining rook's pockets with it ! "

Toryn: toryn glares over at Rook's tent

A performer: With compliments from Rook...enjoy the delights and wonders...

Sunfall nods

Rook waves to Toryn from the enterance of his tent

Ro looks at Rook from under her cape

Toryn: Toryn eyes Rook one final time and escorts Ro into the tent

Sunfall: Do you believe you are treated well by your employer? (Sunfall asks the performer he has just paid)

A corrador made of leather sewn togeather leads into the tent and glowing globes of light leads the way

Toryn: " Well he is a bard - a very experienced one it looks like too.. he's been doing his magic a lot longer than you " explains Toryn

A performer bows to Sunfall

Toryn: " That's probably one of the things bards can do, look through cloaks, after they've been doing their magic for a while - not everyone is capable of such magic " adds Toryn reassuringly

Toryn: Toryn overhears and reluctantly grumbles to Ro " That one says that Rook treats his people well - that's what he SAYS mind you "

Ro sighs as she hates to be the centre of attention

Through the corrador there seems to be little rooms with a waist high fence with the "exibits" inside

The first room holds a two headed calf that's happily eating from a manger of hay

Toryn: " Well he looks happy " says Toryn suspiciously

The second room holds an unusual looking animal...

Sunfall looks at the calf with great distaste

The sign hanging from the fence reads: The great Jackolope, resides on the planes of Karana and can run great distances in such a short time

Toryn: " Never seen anything like that " comments Toryn

Sunfall: Caged animals, if it can run so free why lock it in such a small place?

The next room, there's no fence but a velvet rope. Sitting on a chair there's a young boy that has "claws" instead of hands

He appears to be well dressed

Ro: "Toryyn, he waants to puut me in a caage aaswell?"

Lobster Boy smiles at you as you walk by

Toryn: " We would never let him do so " declares Toryn firmly .. then, more reluctantly " This boy may be here of his own free will however ? "

Toryn: Toryn stops in front of the boy

Toryn: " Child are you here of your own free will ? "

Toryn: " Are you in need of rescue ? "

Lobster Boy blinks at you

Sunfall stares at dismay at the young boy

Toryn: Looking at Sunfall Toryn sighs and asks reluctantly " This Rook person.. what do you think of him.. does he treat you well ? "

Lobster Boy: I have everything I could want here. I rather be a "freak" here than in a city somewhere.

Lobster Boy: Better than most treat me. He never points, laughs and stares.

Sunfall: Better to be a curiosity and feared than to be hated and hunted.

Aikira: what are we still doing here? are we looking for something or are you having fun?

Toryn: " I see... well for what it's worth ... we never said you were a freak in the first place young one ... we have ones among us - brothers and sisters " toryn looks at Aikira and ro " Whom others would judge by how they look rather than their personality .. as well - it's a sad truth of this world we live in .. thank you for your time, good day to you " toryn bows politely to the boy and heads off

Aikira asks sunfall and toryn

Toryn: " Just making sure Rook's not holding them captive - if they were I'd be obligated to try and rescue them " toryn whispers to Aikira as they leave ...

The next booth contains two women upon a first glance. At a closer look....they're attached

Toryn: " It looks like Rook's treating them well " toryn says out loud reluctantly to everyone...

In a single, practiced motion the twins curtsey to the group

Toryn: " greetings ladies - we would know more of your employer, rook - does he treat you and the others in his employ well ? " Toryn asks the twins

Daisy giggles and flutters her eyelashes at Toryn

Daisy: Oooh, Rook is one of the kindest employers.

Toryn: Toryn looks a bit uneasy at their last comment, looking at Ro to see what her reaction will be

The next booth is in the form of a cage and inside of it is a creature that looks like the Jabberwocky from Rook's performance

Toryn: " Hmmm.. so this is where he .. or she ... or it .. stays between performances " states Toryn looking at it ...

Ro just shuffles along not paying attention

Toryn: Toryn shrugs and continues to the next room with Ro

The remaining booths are a bearded lady, a midget, an alligator man, ect...they all have the same replies when questioned about Rook

Evil GM: Yup

Toryn: " Are you sure ? " says Toryn concernedly ... " It's your right to do so if you want sister , we'll abide by your wishes .. but I don't know if I trust him to be honest with you ... I know Aikira doesn't either "

Sunfall stretches once out of the tent

Toryn: " Well I suppose there's no harm in asking him that " says Toryn reluctantly " But are you sure you want to talk to him alone ? You're a mighty warrior and capable of magic too sister - but as you can see he has many allies he could call on if he wanted to take you captive " toryn gestures at all the carnival workers

Toryn: " And if he managed to silence you through his magic or some other means we wouldn't even know anything was wrong "

Ro: "if he huurts mee, you stiill are heere now"

Toryn: " What I mean sister is if you're alone with him - and he does something to make you quiet, so you cannot speak , uses his magic maybe - and then he hurts you - we wouldn't even know you were being hurt " says Toryn spreading his hands helplessly " That's why I'm concerned about you seeing him alone "

Toryn: " If you couldn't call out to us we would not know to come to your aid "

Ro: "yees, buut iif i doon't coome baack you caan fiind me' Ro says with a smile

Aikira: we should not let her go alone

Toryn: Toryn sighs " It's against my better judgment ... but I did make a very big point of saying how you're your own person Ro ... it's your call "

Sunfall: He can't run very far without his carnival can he?

Toryn: " I know I know " says Toryn looking at Aikira ... " but look at it this way - if a warrior asked to face an opponent alone in battle, would we be within our rights to deny that warrior the chance to do so ? "

Toryn: " I suppose that's true too " says Toryn reluctantly looking at Sunfall

Sunfall: Some battles must be fought alone

Aikira just looks at sunfall and toryn, and then says

Evil GM: Ok...so what are you guys going to do? It's now 8pm

Aikira: it's your call gents

Toryn: " Do you want to speak to Rand now, Ro ? "

Evil GM: Everyone give me a spot roll

Evil GM: Sunfall and Toryn see four ladies dressed in silver and white silk robes riding down the road.

Toryn (Toryn): do I recognize them as priestesses of my sister order, Erollisi Marr ?

Evil GM: Yes, you see the symbols of Erollsi Maar on their mount's saddle blankets

Evil GM: Everyone give me a spot roll again

Aikira: WHAT!? stop her... ro is going to rook's tent! aikira shouts

Ro stops and her shoulders drop as she sighs deeply

Sunfall: shouts "Let her go, you don't own her any more than Rook"

Toryn: Toryn turns around from looking at the priestesses having completely missed it " We have to let her " says Toryn sadly " If she wants to talk to him alone we can't stand in her way - go along Ro , we'll be out here waiting for you "

Toryn: Toryn turns back to the priestesses and shouts out " Hail and well met sisters ! "

Ro: "thaank you"

Toryn: " I am Toryn of the Knights of Truth, paladin in service to Mithaniel Marr "

The priestesses stop their mounts and turn and look at you. Each one is quite beautiful.

Toryn: " We have some business to attend to here but may we have the pleasure of conferring with you at your temple tomorrow ? "

Aikira looks at ro walking off, and then looks angry at sunfall for the comment he just gave about aikira owning ro

Toryn: " He's just trying to protect her Sunfall " says Toryn quickly, noticing the interplay and worried about yet another brawl breaking out between his allies ...

Evil GM: One of the priestesses nods her head in acknowlegment of Toryn.

Evil GM: Come at sunrise Sir Knight and you may join us in our morning ritual to Erollsi Maar, then we may discuss your needs.

Toryn: " Thank you sisters you are most gracious " says Toryn with a deep bow - " If I may be so bold to ask, did the delivery go well ? "

A priestess: Ah, it was a false alarm. The Ironhooves are known for delivering early, but it was but some bad grain that upset the lady's stomach.

Toryn: Toryn chuckles .. " We won't keep you then sisters I'm sure you are weary from your travels - we'll see you tomorrow .. praise be to Erollisi and Mithaniel Marr ! "

A priestess: Togeather the priestesses intone, "Praise the twins"

The priestesses start riding again towards the temple

Toryn: Toryn nods respectfully at them then turns back with a worried look at Rook's tent

Toryn (Toryn): is Ro inside Rook's tent yet ?

Evil GM: Yup

Toryn: Toryn crosses his arms and does his best to wait patiently, a look of concern on his face..

Toryn: Without looking away from the tent Toryn says to Sunfall " One thing you need to understand about Aikira - as you can see he's very bold and outspoken, not afraid to say what he thinks - don't take it the wrong way ... as I said earlier he's just concerned about Ro, like the rest of us "
